Roughly the first two minutes of the song were first played on September 13, 2008 on the radio show Siglo 21 on Radio 3 in Spain.[11] The song premiered on British radio on September 18, 2008 on BBC Radio 1's The Jo Whiley Show. Can't believe all the hate for this from unadventurous people who just want the exact same thing every time - it's classic yet modern and Alicia Keys and Jack White together is such a raw, dirty sound which I love. I feel like the hate for the movie pulled the song into that. Because nuance is a lost art so "everything" about QoS has to be shit. It can't be,"The movie had problems but it had a great theme." No, it's,"The movie sucked and so did the theme song!"

This song is pure artistry, a really beautiful composition by Jack White. Just listen carefully how well the lyrics and the music fit together, invoking those feelings of dread and paranoia . . . rising more and more and culminating at someone actually being shot around 4:12.

If you listen close enough, you can also hear footsteps through different parts of the song, adding to the feeling of being followed, watched and eventually ambushed.

I used to hate this Bond song back when the film was first released. But it's only gone up and up in my estimation in the years since. The sound is something different from the usual Bond theme with an edge of millennial hip but an underscore of classical tones. It's both ahead of its time and of its time. I really love it these days.

I just saw a podcast one this and Jack said basically Amy Winehouse was set to do it but she wasn’t delivering what the music directed wanted etc so they were like we need someone NOW. Jack heard of this, and jumped on it, said he did these frills and fills that weren’t typical Bond stuff and the music people were like “can we maybe change this?” And Jack says he lied to their faces and said I don’t have time we’re about to start a tour but he had plenty of time but wanted to keep his spin on a Bond theme there

This is my first time hearing the song. I think they sound great separately in this song, and the music is great, but when they sing at the same time it's kinda hard for me to listen to. They just both have powerful voices and shouldn't sing simultaneously IMO. Also, Alicia shouldn't be ad-libbing over the riffs. Still a solid song, even with these issues. 8/10.

I am a fan of all three angles on this...Bond, Jack, Alicia. In that order. I hate hearing bad reviews on this song cuz if you remove the first angle...it’s an AMAZING song!😌🙏 -😎🇨🇦🍻🖖✌️

Saw his then-band perform this LP @ Denver-Red Rocks. Already a huge devotee, I took 2 of my sons; one in 10th grade, one a fanatical guitarist, in 8th grade. Was their 1st Red Rocks concert. We still speak of that magical concert—& since, in various configurations, out West, we’ve seen countless concerts/shows. Incredibly beautiful memory created-and I repeat the 1st lyrics more than most can imagine‼️🩵🪄🤍

I loved it. They got it right as a Bond song with the minor changes and so on. It was edgy and harsh and that is just like the 'new' James Bond Daniel Craig. Gritty like the original book character by Ian Fleming. Jack is a great drummer. I had no idea. I would love to see and hear the creative works of some of the armchair critics on the internet then do side by side comparisons.

So easy to hate, so hard to create...

Love this, I can't believe I only discovered it on the Bond Theme Songs 50 years anniversary album, it's modern, edgy and gorgeous collaboration between two amazing artists. Alicia Keys already is an absolute LEGENDARY vocalist, composer, musician and God smacking gorgeously talented Human.

I saw the movie before I knew anything about Jack White and his music. I did not care for this song when I first heard it, but coming back to it now, being a fan of Jack White for nearly 7-8 years, this song slaps.
