Invasion
Alinian Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
There's a whole army of gods
That are waiting for my command
To invade my old man's land...
While you sit and listen to your music
I ride in front of my men,
And with a flashing sword in my hand
While you sit and drink coffee in your offices
I might do just the same...
And with a flashing smile on my face
I'll shake the hands of those unworthy
The lyrics of Alinian's song Invasion are filled with powerful imagery of war and conquest. The singer describes a vast army of gods waiting at their command to invade their old man's land. This can be interpreted in different ways, but it could be references to a personal struggle or a familial feud that the singer is determined to conquer. The metaphorical language used in this verse creates a sense of urgency and determination; the army of gods waiting to take action at the singer's command implies that the singer holds immense power and influence over their situation.
The next verse contrasts the singer's actions with the listener's inaction. While the listener is content to listen to music and drink coffee in their office, the singer is riding in front of their army with a flashing sword, ready to take the heads of those they deem unworthy. This contrast highlights the singer's bravery and resolve, contrasting it with the listener's complacency. The last line, "I'll shake the hands of those unworthy," is perhaps the most significant. It suggests that the singer doesn't see their enemies or opponents as inherently bad, but rather as unworthy of the singer's respect or admiration.
