The group is comprised of Tony Borowiak, Jamie Jones, Delious Kennedy, and Alfred Nevarez. All of them were from the Mojave, California City, and Hesperia areas of California. As stated before, they are best known for "I Swear", which was also nominated for Song Of The Year at the Grammys (as was the single "I Can Love You Like That", another remake of a Montgomery country song, the following year). All-4-One almost became transatlantic chart toppers, blocked only by Wet Wet Wet's cover "Love Is All Around" (originally by The Troggs) for the soundtrack to the 1994 film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' (that cover spent 15 weeks at number one in the U.K. Singles Chart).
Many people often mistake All-4-One songs for those done by Boyz II Men, another popular 90s R&B group. This is due to their very similar music style as well as the fact that both artists had the height of their popularity in around 1994 or so. At any rate, All-4-One achieved considerable airplay for years afterwards.
However, declining sales led to the group leaving the Atlantic Records label after the release of the album 'On and On' in 1999. Still, even the shift in labels did not help shore up the group's flagging popularity, as the follow-up album, 'A41', and its lead single "Not Ready 4 Goodbye" both failed to chart in the U.S. (although their next single, "Beautiful As You", was a minor Adult Contemporary hit). Their 2004 album, titled 'Split Personality', was given an Asia-only release.
All-4-One later signed a new record deal with the label Peak Concord. Their seventh album (and, to date, their latest), titled 'No Regrets', came out in September 2009. That release is perhaps best known for featuring the song "Key to Your Heart". As well, the group's iconic singles "I Swear" and "I Can Love You Like That" have continued to receive airplay and praise over the years.

If you gave just a little more, would you have had those tears?
That I've wiped from your face and helped you back home
If you were much stronger than my arms, you would know
And all along, all along
On your own, I won't let you fall
So I'll carry us, if I see you breaking down
Let fear fade to dust, let it never even make a sound
Cause I'll be, yeah I'll be, your solid ground
If your strength were completely gone, I'll be there for you
If your heart simply wasn't strong, mine will beat for two
And all along, all along
On your own, I won't let you fall
So I'll carry us, if I see you breaking down
Be your chariot, cause in you my faith is found
Let fear fade to dust, let it never even make a sound
Cause I'll be, yes I'll be, your solid ground
And we know that this journey means we might get lost
And we never know which way to go (we don't know which way to go)
I'll be your answer waiting, hidden for higher reasons
And I will catch you if you fall
I'll be your chariot, cause in you my faith is found
And I'll be (and I'll be)
Yes I'll be (yeah I'll be), your solid ground
The lyrics of All-4-One's song "Chariots" convey a message of unwavering love, support, and strength in a relationship. The song speaks to the idea that when someone is going through difficult times, the singer will be there to provide comfort, guidance, and stability.
The first verse suggests that if the person being addressed had just prayed a little more or given a little more, perhaps they wouldn't have shed tears that have been wiped away. It implies that the singer has been there to offer support and help bring them back home. The line "If you were much stronger than my arms, you would know" emphasizes that even if the person could handle things on their own, their strength is not a reason for the singer to let them fall and that they are there to catch them.
The chorus reinforces the commitment of the singer to be a source of strength and support. They describe themselves as a chariot, symbolizing being a vehicle that carries and protects the person they love. The lines "Let fear fade to dust, let it never even make a sound" exemplify the desire to provide a sense of security and peace, creating a safe space for their loved one. The singer reassures them that they will be their solid ground, someone they can rely on regardless of what challenges they may face.
The second verse continues to emphasize the singer's devotion. It expresses the willingness to be there for the person even when their own strength is depleted. The line "If your heart simply wasn't strong, mine will beat for two" illustrates their readiness to love and support them completely, even in moments when they may feel weak.
The bridge acknowledges that the journey in the relationship may be uncertain and confusing at times. The singer acknowledges that they don't always know which way to go, but they promise to be the answer waiting for the person they love. They vow to catch them if they fall, reaffirming their role as the chariot, the supporter who will continue to be there.
Overall, "Chariots" is an uplifting and reassuring song that conveys the singer's dedication to their loved one, promising to be their unwavering support and safe haven.
