The relationship chased a high that was too far and too fast, and they found themselves in a situation where they had a picket white fence, but they painted it black.
Amanda Yang then sings about her desires and regrets in the relationship, wishing that her partner had hurt her harder than she hurt him and that he wouldn't wait for her despite her flaws. She hopes that someone will love her partner in ways that she couldn't, taking care of all the mess she's made in the relationship.
