3) Amaru is a band formed by singer/songwriter Bobby Amaru. After recording countless songs on his own in a Jacksonville, Florida studio with his long-time friend Sam Rivers of Limp Bizkit, Bobby realized that he needed the right band members to help him spread the music. Amaru brought in Brad Stewart, formerly of Shinedown, to handle the bass guitar. Stewart has also co-written Puddle of Mudd's hit "Control", and Shinedown's Rock/Top 40 hit "I Dare You". "I Dare You" was covered by Chris Daughtry and aired nationally on "American Idol". They then recruited guitarist Stephen Carey of the Jacksonvilled-based band "Shadow Agency" to handle all of the guitars.Their search for a drummer seemed to be the hardest part, but after countless auditions, local musician Jonathan Fowler turned out to be the perfect guy for the job. Only being a band for 5 months they competed to play mainstage for the annual planetfest show that is held in jacksonville every year. Out of 60 local bands Amaru was picked by the station to open the show in front of 10,000 people. They were also asked to join "The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus" for their april acoustic tour with no label support. Since then they have gained press, new fans, and the shows are getting larger.
4) Amaru is a one-man electronica project with African and tribal influences, as well as forays into dark ambience, based in Brighton in the United Kingdom. As of yet only a 7 part EP has been produced, though each part flows into the next creating the impression of one long song.
5) Amaru is an Andean folk band from Peñalolén, Santiago de Chile. Formed in 1992 and active until the late 2000's, when internal struggles kept delaying the release of new albums. Throughout their career, they went on international tours, one in Ecuador and one in China, As of 2023, they are active only in concerts and live recitals. One of their members, Ramón Castillo Gaete (voice, clarinet, quena, zampoña), would gain later fame for leading a religious sect in Colliguay that performed a human sacrifice on his newborn son.

In "Devotion," Amaru shares a relationship that seems to be in a state of turmoil. Despite the madness and selfishness of their partner, the singer remains devoted to their significant other. The chorus sings, "Devotion! You're trading all my emotions, afraid inside, you want to give up, give in, get out, and you just make me want to give up, give in and get out. But I don't really want to change the subject this time, 'Cause I have nothing I won't give up, give in, get out, 'Cause I have nothing to hide." The lyrics are about the struggle to maintain devotion to someone who constantly tests your patience and an introspective look at what remains worth fighting for in a broken relationship.
In verse two, Amaru alludes to hiding their phone because of their partner's jealousy, explaining that their partner is all they want and that they are ashamed of it. The bridge recalls promises made at the beginning of the relationship and reveals that they were all lies. With the chorus repeating, "You want to give up, give in, get out," the outro doubles down with an additional repetition of the word "Devotion!" leaving the listener with the understanding that love can be messy and difficult, but a devotion that remains is a choice.

I think what happened is Bobby Amaru wrote it for Burn Season but when he formed Amaru he took it with him, it wasn't released by Burn Season until recently but it was written years ago, at least that's what I believe happened lol
