Beautiful and insightful as always. I am still to this day heartbroken over what happened and I have never forgiven Joss for what was, to be kind to him, a monumental display of short sighted writing at best and a shocking betrayal of a section of his fan base for cheap sensationalism at worst. It looks to me that Amber, whilst always tactful, gave the clearest indication of her upset over the story decision and that she felt it could have, indeed should have, gone another way.
If I had been there there are 2 questions I would have asked, as supplementals to ones already asked in the Q&A:
1) How did she feel about this whole "Buffy gets a wish and wishes Tara back" line that Joss was selling and that according to him, she had turned down? My personal opinion is that she did not know about it as I doubt very much she would have turned that down.
2) She was asked about other lesbian characters she had played but I would want to ask her about the one she didn't mention, which is the lead in forthcoming horror film Nightmare Gallery.
But an excellent Q&A with a lovely and talented and just genuinely decent lady.

God I was in the room for this and let me tell you, over a year later, it still gives me all the same chills that this panel did the first time.

I was crying within the first 2 minutes. The whole show was so important to me when I started binge watching it around 2013. To this day, whenever I'm really having a rough time, I put on "once more with feeling" or "hush" or another one of my favorite episodes and it makes that day just a little bit less crappy.
Buffy the vampire slayer is still my favorite tv show of all time and I will always have a special place in my heart for Tara, she was too good and too pure for that show. I don't think I'll ever fully be over her death. I'm so glad Amber Benson did this panel, it makes me so happy that people are still talking about this show and about this character 20 years later.
Also, on a happier note: "she could have stubbed her toe really hard" 😂. Or can we talk about Amber saying Tara was the top while Dana is like "stop it we can't talk about that" and Amber joint points at herself 😂. This panel was so great.

This panel represents the true soul of Clexacon: unconditional love, respect, joy, excitement, long-term fandoms, mutual support and creativity spiralling around fans and guests equally and lifting everyone up. Future cons need to focus on and reflect our unique "family" characteristics and address concerns to make "our" con better and better each year.

Amber is such a dream. So articulate and kind.
@khalel610
This is really amazing. My favorite Panel of this year. Amber is really smart, funny, articulate and she really gets it (BYG trope).
You can also sense Dana was so happy and excited. One hour well spent.
I hope more lgbt fans watch this panel. It's really good.
@AnnetteHanzal
that introduction was the highlight of my day
we will never forget Tara
@JustBeeCharmer
I gotta say that I love Amber recognizing how amazing Dana is.
@ErikaDraeug
She really seems invested in telling other stories! I love her! 💜
@quantumac
If Tara had to die for the storyline, I wish it could have been heroic in some way, such as protecting her new family.
@rileyreshi
This made my day. The whole thing was wonderful, but the end note is the kind of determined positivity that I'm fighting to embody every day. So much love.
