Watching Over Me

No chance that we will make it, you've faked it for so long
But I'm standing here before you, as you're barely holding on
And I'm writing just to show you, there's strength in who you are
[Chorus:]
We live and we fall, but I'll try to move on
It's so hard to be the one left on my own
It's so hard to be the one left on my own
From the night, I can faintly here you breathing, I know that you're around
I can feel your arms around me, I'll take the water down
But I'm standing here before you, as you're deep within this ground
And I'm writing just to show you, that in me you can be found
[Chorus]
You mean more to me now, it's gone forever
I won't forget, I'll make things better
With you are more then I will ever be
You were there when I lived for you to guide me
Through all the times that I spent feeling
True to the sense that you were there for me
[Chorus x2]
On my own
The lyrics of "Watching Over Me" by Amber Pacific speak directly to someone who has lost all hope for the future and feels like giving up. The opening verse sets the tone, with the singer writing to someone who has lost their will to carry on: "From your words, I can tell you've lost a reason, the will to carry on/ No chance that we will make it, you've faked it for so long." Despite the bleak outlook, the singer assures the person that they are not alone and that there is strength within them: "But I'm standing here before you, as you're barely holding on/ And I'm writing just to show you, there's strength in who you are."
The chorus provides a sense of both resignation and determination, as the singer acknowledges that everyone falls at some point but vows to keep moving on: "We live and we fall, but I'll try to move on/ It's so hard to be the one left on my own/ We live and we fall, but I'll keep moving on/ It's so hard to be the one left on my own." The second verse again speaks directly to the person, this time using phrases that suggest they may have passed away: "From the night, I can faintly hear you breathing, I know that you're around/ I can feel your arms around me, I'll take the water down/ But I'm standing here before you, as you're deep within this ground/ And I'm writing just to show you, that in me you can be found."
Overall, "Watching Over Me" is a poignant song about loss, grief, and the indomitable human spirit. The lyrics suggest that even in our darkest moments, there is always someone there to support us and that we should never give up hope.

From your words, I can tell youve lost a reason,
The will to carry on
No chance that we will make it,
Youve faked it for so long
But Im standing here before for you,
As your barely holding on
And Im writing just to show you

Its so hard to be the one left on my own

Its so hard to be the one left on my own

But Im standing here before you,
As your deep within this ground
And Im trying just to show you
That in me you can be found
We live and we fall
But I'll try to move on
Its so hard to be the one left on my own

You were there when I looked for you to guide me
Through all the times that I spent feeling
Sure of a sense that you were there for me
We live and we fall
But I'll try to move on
Its so hard to be the one left on my own
We live and we fall
But Ill keep moving on
Its so hard to be the one left on my own

But I'll try to move on
Its so hard to be the one left on my own
We live and we fall
But Ill keep moving on
