After some traumatic happenings, I found myself with an intense fear of thunder that was starting to get in the way of my romantic relationship because my sweet boyfriend would have to stay up to comfort me because I couldn't sleep. Brings back my memories when I owned a fruit garden with very old almond trees in my country. I love playing Tropical Rain and Light Rain/Thunder together because it creates the sound of an approaching summer storm~ I can almost feel the humid air of sitting on the porch, watching the birds pluck up the worms in the rain. Listening to the thunder making its way over while putting dinner on the table, and just soaking it in through the windows and doors.

Whenever it would rain when I was little (especially thunder storms), I'd disappear into my room and watch the lightning, sitting against the wall adjacent from the window. It was beautiful and so peaceful. It would'nt be uncommon for my parents to find me asleep up against a wall bc the thunder knocked me out. Aah memories..

actually, this is one of the few very well balanced recordings in the 'genre'... all sounds sit in the mix in a very suitable, level-headed, clear yet modest way. I was even kind of passively delighted (as in: not annoyed) for there's literally none of the common subtle annoyances to find with a noticeable lot of other similar productions that I gave a try, like recurring subsequent sounds, unnatural patterns due to sloppy looping, far to high repeat frequency of sound events, oddly leveled volumes or contradictionary echoic responses...

but not in this recording...
...which really was a delight and relieve! (maybe slightly helped by the fact that I listened through to several other clips, each driving me utter nuts after between seconds and minutes tops, before I ended up right here). ...and not as a surprise, the sound welded almost instantly so well to the accoustic environment of my room that before long I completely lost any hint on how to isolate recorded and environmental sounds. there's certainly a very forthcomming amount of 'room' diffuseness involved here...

now, the video itself however went completely past my attention as keeping your eyes closed while preparing to fall asleep turns out to be an unavoidable element in this matter (well, nonetheless nice and soothing splashes of rain on a puddle, blue-ish. nothing to complain to say the least)... but out of my perspective certainly the most important: the sound recording was a pleasure and worthwhile mentioning that the difference is well noticeable and respectfully appreciated.

This is especially valuable to citizens of the Eastern half of the United States, since we used to often get this sort of normal, natural long light rains with mellow thunder going on for an hour or hours. Now, we get it twice a year. This is due to comprehensive Geoengineering over and offshore of this country. So, it's both beautiful and weird to hear this video... it's been 8 months "dry" here and this is the only version I'm gonna get until mid to late Spring, if the last 5 years are any guide. Then, probably early to mid Fall. Meanwhile, I'll be coming back here... I'd forgotten how nice it can be to sleep to this kind of thing... oooh...I feel it coming on right now... but I have a lot to do.
