Thankyou for doing this, I'm looking at this myself. One question I have is...what's your take on it after a few months/years...do you feel your kids learned effectively from it? It looks amazing, but I always am curious on if it actually teaches or does it only entertain. Thanks in advance for any feedback you or others reading this can give. My daughter is 2 currently, I'm considering this for when she's 3 possibly

@Shelly Wutke Thankyou that's a great reply, those are good points and a good way of looking at it. I'm the same way in that I'd rather have a constructive activity vs. consuming activity for her, so the idea about the blocks making it interactive is neat. I'll give it a try! Thankyou :)

I think they have learned from it, but it's hard to tell because the subjects are so abstract. It focuses on patterns and logical concepts like cause and effect, so there's no real way of knowing what they are picking up unless you look at how quick they are getting with the game they are playing. My kids have blazed through all of the games, but they're older now too.

I've thought it's a great toy because it's physical instead of just a game on a tablet, and I'm happier when someone has a set of blocks in front of them instead of mindlessly staring at a screen. It's pretty fun too, so it's something they will go back to again and again. That's usually the measure of a good toy for me; whether they lose interest quickly or they consistently play with it.

What the truck?!

Thank u for doing this review, im very interested in this product for my daughters.

The coding is really cool. Do they have an algebra game for older children?

Shelly Wutke

@brett knoss Ohh, makes sense. My teens know Python but I had never heard of Logo. I'll check it out!

brett knoss

@Shelly Wutke Logo is a language, that let's you create simple graphics. It's been around since the 60s and is more like traditional progaming. You can also do turtle graphics in a standard programming lsnguage like Python.

@brett knoss My kids are all pros on Scratch. I've never hear of LOGO. Is it an app?

brett knoss

@Shelly Wutke lol. That seems about right, if there were algebra games for age 10-12. I think all you need is to have +,-,*,/,^,sqrt on 3 two sides cards. As for age by 10 theyshoukd br comfortable in Scratch, and introduced to LOGO, to learn the relationship between geometry and arithmetic.

Shelly Wutke

They have the complete coding family kit that's good for kids up to 12, but nothing beyond that. My 16 year old daughter really got into the pizza game when I was testing it. lol
