Never Want to Love Again
Anavae Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You made me think that you had something to confess
You made me think that there were things
That you needed to get off of your chest
A lot of love
A lot of grief
Youβ²re gritting it between your teeth
Itβ²s all a stress
I'm in a mess
I'm trying to take in all the rest
I think youβ²ll regret this
You make me never wanna love again
You pull the floor from underneath of you and I
I gotta stop biting down on things that I will never understand
What have we done? What will we do?
Itβ²s so disturbing how our memories grow cold
I've gotta learn, Iβ²ve gotta live
This part of you I should forgive
I don't think you want this
You disappeared without a trace
I close my eyes, can see your face
I think youβ²ll regret this
You make me never wanna love again
You pull the floor from underneath of you and I
You make me never wanna love again
You're just another stranger
Love again, youβ²re just another stranger
Damned if I do, and damned if I don't
Running a race where I'll surely fall
There is no winner when everythingβ²s lost
When did you turn into another stranger?
You make me never wanna love again
You pull the floor from underneath of you and I
You make me never wanna love again
You pull the floor from underneath of you and I
You make me never wanna love again
Youβ²re just another stranger
Love again, you're just another stranger
The lyrics to Anavae's song "Never Want to Love Again" delve into the emotions and aftermath of a broken relationship. The song initially portrays a sense of deception and betrayal, with the singer stating that the other person made them believe they had it all and something important to confess. This implies that the relationship was built on false pretenses and secrecy. The singer reflects on the love and grief experienced, but can also sense that the other person does not truly want this relationship.
The lyrics express the turmoil and confusion the singer feels, describing themselves as being in a mess and trying to make sense of everything. They suggest that the other person will eventually regret their actions, perhaps indicating that they foresee them realizing the impact of their behavior and the consequences of losing the singer's love.
The chorus emphasizes the lasting impact of the broken relationship, as the other person's actions have made the singer never want to love again. The line "You pull the floor from underneath of you and I" illustrates how the other person's actions have destabilized and shattered the foundation of the relationship. The repeated mention of the other person as "just another stranger" emphasizes the sense of detachment and emptiness the singer feels towards them now.
The latter part of the lyrics, particularly the lines "Damned if I do, and damned if I don't / Running a race where I'll surely fall," highlight the internal struggle the singer faces. Despite the pain and loss experienced, they question whether they should still hold onto their anger or forgive the other person. The final line "When did you turn into another stranger?" portrays the disbelief and realization that the person they once knew has become unrecognizable.
Overall, "Never Want to Love Again" explores the themes of betrayal, heartbreak, and the difficulty of letting go after a relationship has ended.

Expressionism is clearly on display here. I guess that we all are still in awe of ourselves and how we relate in the shadow of other energy. When certain entities reach toward us it can be overwhelming. Others can define us at different times in our lives.

What a great song!!! It is a different but interesting video, I think the human's silohuettes inside a three dimentional space represents a disappointing feeling after you look honestly to the other person that you expected more, so it looks empty now, and that's the reason why the melancholy shows up with the thought that "Maybe the expectations always lead to disappointment, so try to love somebody it's worthless". It makes me reflect about the transition from crush to love, and how sometimes it doesnΒ΄t work because of the incompatibility of the couple.
