Whose here to Remember what a phenomenal and monumental player Mr. Andre Watts was 😢❤❤ Rip 1946-2023
Hit like if you love his music and endurance it forever 🎶🎼🎹🎹

@chislehurstbat

Me too.

When I first moved to Dallas, my first social endeavor — a box seat ticket for his appearance at the Myerson, whose acoustics are absolutely perfect, rivaling that of Carnegie Hall.

André did my favorite piano concerto, the Mendelssohn No. 1. And, as usual he executed with absolute perfection. And, as usual, the Second Movement with its adanté lamenting almost hymnal sound nearly brought me to tears because of its beauty.

This is a major major loss to the world of classical music.

Ew don’t use his death as a like factory

@FWatts

Andre Watts is a phenomenal talent, and also my godfather. I still get goosebumps when I hear him play Liszt- this piece especially.

Enjoy!

Lucky! He’s a legend

@lizbier

You are so lucky to have him as your godfather! I saw him when I was sixteen or seventeen when my piano teacher brought me to a concert when he was just starting out around 1970. I had front row seats and could see the sweat on his brow - I fell in love with him that day! What magic...!
