One of her biggest breaks in acting came in 2002, when she got the opportunity to play Hilary Duff's best friend in the made for television movie Cadet Kelly, where she also acted alongside Christy Carlson Romano. This movie became a regular feature on American cable channel Disney. She played "Carla Hall" in the movie. "Carla Hall" was a military school cadet who would not break school rules until she met "Kelly", played by Duff.
What has been, so far, arguably her biggest break in the entertainment business, however, came also in 2002, when she began to play "Hazel Aden" in Degrassi: The Next Generation. Degrassi: The Next Generation followed in the steps of six other shows branded with the Degrassi name (dating back to 1979) in becoming a major hit across Canada, and Lewis reached fame, at least among teenaged television viewers.
In 2002, Degrassi: The Next Generation began to be shown on Nickelodeon's The N, a network geared towards more mature adolescent audiences, and Lewis began to become known in the United States as well.

And fuck up your heart
Take a bat to your car
That'd just be the start
Or even be mean
While you're on the scene
I choose to come clean
To the girl of your dreams
I wonder if she ever knew about me
Or did you keep our love a secret like you did she
Surprise Surprise
I open my eyes and realize
The you I thought I knew was
Nothing more than a man full of lies
It's so hard to believe (so hard)
That you never loved me (you never loved me)
Even more to concieve (it's so hard to believe)
You made a fool of me
You made a fool of me
I can't believe
You did this to me
How could you think
That I would let you walk away
A hit and run just wipe your hands
No damage to your name
Mistake you made
Underestimate the price I paid
You fooled me once
But fool me twice
After everything you did to me
It's so hard to believe
It's so hard to believe
That you never loved me (Never loved me)
Even more to concieve
You made a fool of me
You made a fool of me
You made a fool of me
You made a fool of me
You made a fool of me
Walk away as if you never did
I know
You can run run run run run run run
Don't look at me like you don't know
Who I've become
It's all because of you
It's all because of you
You made a fool of me
You made a fool of me
The song "Fool of Me" by Andrea Lewis describes the painful discovery of betrayal in a relationship. The lyrics suggest that the singer is hurt and angry because her partner has been dishonest in their relationship. The singer discusses the different ways in which she could retaliate, such as by damaging her partner's property or being mean to him in front of others. However, she chooses to confront the situation head-on by coming clean to the girl of his dreams, thus exposing his lies.
The second verse depicts the singer's disbelief at discovering the truth about her partner's infidelity. She questions whether the other woman knew about their relationship and expresses shock and disappointment that he would deceive her in such a way. The pre-chorus and chorus then summarize the singer's feelings of hurt, betrayal, and anger towards her partner. She can't believe that he never loved her and that he made a fool of her, leading her to become someone new because of his actions.
Overall, the song portrays the emotional tumult that can result from betrayal in a relationship. The singer experiences a range of negative emotions, from hurt and anger to disbelief and disillusionment. However, she ultimately chooses to confront her partner and expose his lies.
