Annie
Andrea McArdle Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The sun´ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There´ll be sun

Just thinkin´ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs
And the sorrow
´Til there´s none

When I´m stuck a day
That´s gray
And lonely
I just stick out my chin
And grin
And say
Oh

The sun´ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
´Til tomorrow
Come what may

Tomorrow
Tomorrow
I love ya
Tomorrow

You´re only
A day
Away

The sun´ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
´Til tomorrow
Come what may

Tomorrow
Tomorrow
I love ya
Tomorrow

You´re only
A day
Away

Tomorrow
Tomorrow
I love ya
Tomorrow

You´re only

A day
Away

What baffles me is why McArdle never became a HUGE Broadway star. Her voice is simply phenomenal.

Molly Lea

It doesn't help that she didn't really do anything after Annie. Maybe she didn't want to.

Chocolate Souljah

She definitely has some Broadway credits and regional theatre. I think she tried but I'm disappointed to say it didn't go super big.

mary furnier

i believe she was very sick for a while.. i think she had cancer

Molly Lea

mary furnier No, you're thinking of Shelley Bruce, the girl that came on right before Andrea that sang "Maybe".

I know that she married in 1988 and had a little girl, Alexis Kalehoff. for a while I would imagine she concentrated on raising her daughter. She did do various specials and "Rainbow." Several years ago she started doing musicals again. I know she played Sally Bowles in Cabaret and she played Miss Hannigan in a revival production of Annie. She also did a night club act too at one time.

I gotta say, I think this is the best McArdle's ever sounded singing this song. Every note sounds crystal clear, her belts are clean as hell, and the choices she makes with the melody are really nice!

Def more mature and beautiful.

There is something so special about Andrea McArdle. She has the most amazing presence and a voice that just effortlessly pours out of her. She has done other Broadway musicals well suited to her voice: the lead roles in Beauty and the Beast, Annie Get Your Gun, and Les Miserables (as Fantine.) But she also seems to stay under the public's radar a lot. How I would love to see her perform in person!

kmcoolady She also played Eponine on tour. She would have been a fantastic Ellen in Miss Saigon. Can you imagine her and Lea in that.
