Instrumentation:
Andrew sings and plays the guitar. If there's a piano available, he'd love to play it.
Biography:
When Andrew Gregory realized that songs were taking over his life, he left college, put his guitar in a closet, and tried to run away. When asked why a talented young songwriter would attempt to escape his fate, Andrew responds: "A musician's life is a tough life, so I decided to avoid it at all costs." Despite his efforts to dodge his destiny, his songs and his talent chased him around the world. When Vietnamese monks heard him humming in their monastery, they made Andrew sing them a concert. As he milked goats in the mountains of France, his boss heard music in his buckets and started inviting friends to his farm just so they could hear him sing. Anywhere he traveled, his friends and hosts would find a guitar and beg him to sing. Eventually Andrew just gave in. He returned to the States by way of Waffle House, finished his degree at Swarthmore College, and began to write, record, and tour with his whole heart.
His music, which catches audiences' ears only a little faster than it captures their hearts, has been compared the music of Paul Simon, John Prine, Tom Waits, and James Taylor. He has just moved to beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia (the folk capital of the south), and is currently celebrating the release of his debut self-titled album, which features the production and performance of Andrew's friend and teacher, Tom Prasada-Rao. He tours East Coast playing listening rooms, bars, coffee houses, and colleges

Do You Know?
Andrew Gregory Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I still love you
I still love you even when you're gone
Do you feel the way that I do
show me a sign, please, show me a sign so I know that you love me too.
Cause now I hear you when I'm breathing and I feel our two hearts beating.
Do you know that when you're gone I still love you.
Andrew Gregory's song 'Do You Know?' is a heartwarming track that reflects on the power of love in carrying on despite physical separation. The opening lines, "Do you know that when you're gone, I still love you" show that love transcends distance and absence. The artist loves his significant other even when they are not physically present with him. The lyrics are a testament to the strength and depth of the love shared between two people.
The artist goes on to ask for a sign to show that his beloved loves him too. He wants affirmation that their love is reciprocated, that he is not alone in his feelings. The line, "Now I hear you when I'm breathing, and I feel our two hearts beating" suggests a deep spiritual connection that outweighs the physical distance between them. It's as if he can feel his beloved's presence even when they are not physically there.
The chorus repeats the opening line to drive home the central message of the song: that love remains even when the object of affection is gone. It is a beautiful testimony to the power of love, the ability to transcend time and space.
