Here are listed 19 of those bands.
1. After Cherry People disbanded, Punky Meadows and Mickie Jones formed Daddy Warbux, later BUX, which released one album. Angel formed after the two met Gregg Giuffria and then Barry Brandt and Frank Dimino, choosing the name "Angel".
Angel were discovered by Kiss bassist Gene Simmons who secured them a deal with Casablanca Records in 1975. The original members of the band were Barry Brandt on drums, "Punky" Meadows on guitar, Frank DiMino on vocals, Greg Giuffria on keyboards and Mickey Jones on bass. Their self-titled debut album, Angel, released in 1975, was an excellent bit of heavy pomp rock, and their lyrics dealt with battles and events in history. They developed an exciting stage concept which was based on the pure colour of white with various illusions and effects and this won them many fans. Their second album, "Helluva Band", released in 1976, featured one of their best tracks, the lengthy "The Fortune Tower ", was most notable as one of their few tunes to grace the air waves. Our featured album saw Angel adopt a more pop/rock sound and introduced a novel logo which read identically when upside down. Micky Jones was later replaced by Felix Robinson and featured on the follow-up album, "White Hot", also released in 1977, along with On Earth As It Is In Heaven. In 1979, Angel were involved in the movie "Foxes" with Cherie Currie , but were later dropped by Casabalanca because of lack of sales. The group split in 1980 after the "Live Without A Net" live album, with Giuffria forming his own outfit with guitarist Craig Goldy, bassist Chuck Wright and drummer Alan Krigger. Giuffria also later featured in House of Lords.
Angel reformed in the late nineties with two original members: Barry Brandt and Frank DiMino. A new album, "In the Beginning", was released in 1999. The album included contributions from various musicians as well guest appearances by Punky Meadows and Felix Robinson. Since then Angel has continued to tour and has been invited to perform at several major festivals including Sweden Rock and Bang Your Head. The current lineup includes: Frank DiMino, Barry Brandt, guitarist Steve Blaze (Lillian Axe/Near Life Experience), keyboardist Michael T. Ross (Lita Ford/Hardline) and bassist Randy Gregg (Thin Lizzy/Lauren Harris).
In 2008 Lovember Records reissued “On Earth As It Is In Heaven” as a Limited Edition. The album has been digitally remastered and includes a 16-page booklet with liner notes by journalist Dave Reynolds (Classic Rock Magazine/Kerrang), a track-by-track run down by singer Frank DiMino, all lyrics and unreleased photos.
In 2018, Meadows and Dimino toured together under the moniker 'Punky Meadows and Frank Dimino of Angel' performing a set of classic Angel songs and solo cuts. They are backed by a band featuring Danny Farrow on rhythm guitar, Charlie Calv on keyboards, Steve Ojane on bass and Billy Orrico on drums. We put em on the line
We take it or fight it
So I'll stay tonight
My heart is a secret you wanna know
A feeling, a place that you'd rather go
You keep coming for me
But nothing ever makes you mad
If maybe I could play it right
I'd be so good for you
But nothing ever makes you sad
Your feelings are all I have
And if I get to play you right
I'd be so good for you
Endless encounter
Somehow we're still alive
But I know your power
So pour me your wine
Your heart is a secret, a guarded door
A heaven, a garden I can't explore
You keep hiding from me
But nothing ever makes you mad
These feelings are all I have
If maybe I could play it right
I'd be so good for you
But nothing ever makes you sad
Your feelings are all I have
And if I get to play you right
I'd be so good for you
Good for you, good for you
I'd be so good for you
So good, so good, so good
But nothing ever hurts that bad
My feelings are all I have
I know it doesn't work like that
To think, I did it all for you
My heart is a secret you wanna know
A heaven, a garden you can't explore
But nothing ever makes you mad
These feelings are all I have
If maybe I could play it right
I'd be so good for you
But nothing ever makes you sad
Your feelings are all I have
And if I get to play you right
I'd be so good for you
Good for you, good for you
I'd be so good for you
So good, so good, so good
Good for you, good for you
I'd be so good for you
So good, so good, so good
The lyrics of "Feelings" by Angel, suggest a push and pull dynamic between two people who have an uncertain emotional connection. They put their hearts on the line, trying to decipher each other's feelings, but end up at a stalemate. The singer, who seems to be invested in the relationship, struggles to break through their partner's emotional barriers, expressing that their heart is a secret that they want to know. The other person appears to have a guarded demeanor, with a heart that is likened to a "guarded door," a "heaven, a garden" that the singer cannot explore. The lyrics display a kind of frustration on the part of the singer, who wants to understand and connect emotionally with their partner, but can't seem to make any headway.
The lyrics are rich with imagery and metaphor, adding depth and complexity to the singer's emotions. The use of metaphors like "heaven, a garden" or "guarded door" are powerful imagery that adds to the emotional intensity of the song. The repetition of the lines "nothing ever makes you sad" and "these feelings are all I have" underscores the limitations of the singer's emotional connection, with the implication that they are holding back in fear of getting hurt. The song's chorus, "I'd be so good for you," reinforces the desire of the singer to connect on a deeper level, but recognizes the challenge of breaking down walls and connecting emotionally.

Hearts undecided
We are unsure of our feelings
We put em on the line
We are risking our feelings by being open and vulnerable
We take it or fight it
We have to decide whether to pursue the relationship or not
So I'll stay tonight
I will stick around for now
My heart is a secret you wanna know
There are deep emotions I have that you want to uncover
A feeling, a place that you'd rather go
These emotions are something you want to experience
You keep coming for me
You are pursuing me
But nothing ever makes you mad
You don't seem to be bothered by anything I do
These feelings are all I have
My emotions are everything I have to offer
If maybe I could play it right
If only I could do the right things to make this work
I'd be so good for you
I could be everything you need
Endless encounter
This relationship has been going on for a while
Somehow we're still alive
Even though there have been ups and downs, we are still together
But I know your power
I understand the hold you have on me
So pour me your wine
Let's enjoy each other's company
Your heart is a secret, a guarded door
You have hidden emotions that I cannot access
A heaven, a garden I can't explore
There is a whole other side to you that I cannot reach
You keep hiding from me
You are keeping your true feelings from me
Endless encounter
This relationship has been going on for a while
If maybe I could play it right
If only I could do the right things to make this work
Good for you, good for you
I could be exactly what you need
So good, so good, so good
I could make you so happy
But nothing ever hurts that bad
Even though we face challenges, they are not enough to make us give up
My feelings are all I have
My emotions are my strongest tool in this relationship
I know it doesn't work like that
I understand that love cannot be forced or manipulated
To think, I did it all for you
I have done everything I can to make this work for you
Good for you, good for you
I could be exactly what you need
So good, so good, so good
I could make you so happy

rotory wankel
Everyday I try to change my ways
Still I find I'm calling your name
Try to stop myself right from the very start
But to be in love has torn me apart
I've made it clear I want you near
That constant fear that you might leave me standing here
Can't help myself for this torturing inside
Possessed by love, is the pain I cannot hide
Chorus:
Feelings, reach out and hold me
Hold me close by your side
So you see you've become a part of me
A part that helps me to live and breathe
Now you've gone I need you more and more each day
A selfish need that won't go away
You took my life and the love I've stored
You took it all and left me nothing but wanting more
Can't help myself from this torturing inside
Possessed by love is the pain I cannot hide
Chorus:
Feelings, reach out and hold me
Hold me close by your side
Feelings, reach out and hold me
Hold me close by your side
Feelings, feelings, feelings, feelings, feelings
Feelings, feelings, feelings, feelings
Feelings, reach out and hold me
Hold me close by your side

Never heard this one before. Gregg's keys sounded like a waterfall and the vocals are steady and on point. Beautiful range. Beautiful match.

I LOVE this record sooo much & it just hurts me, how it sits in obscurity, unenjoyed by the masses!!!
Chris Weil
I agree. Angel was fantastic and they never got the credit nor the attention that they deserved. Excellent band, saw them several times at the Palladium in NYC and enjoyed each show. Every now and then I get together with one of my childhood friends and we'll throw a few Angel lyrics into the conversation and other people look at us puzzled and bewildered. "Feeeeelings!!"
