Actually either spelling is correct. Patty’s 1st husband’s name was Lovelace pronounced “Loveless” in his native North Carolina. Patty separated from Terry Lovelace in 1985 and divorced in 1986. Shortly after, Patty moved to Nashville’ went professional and changed the spelling of her name to make it easy to pronounce and to avoid any relation to porn star Linda Lovelace.
