Painkiller
Angra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Faster than a bullet
Terrifying scream
Enraged and full of anger
He is half man and half machine
Rides the metal monster
Breathing smoke and fire
Closing in with vengeance soaring high
He is the painkiller
This is the painkiller
Planets devastated
Mankind's on its knees
A savior comes from out the skies
In answer to their pleas
Through boiling clouds of thunder
Blasting bolts of steel
Evils going under deadly wheels
He is the painkiller
This is the painkiller
Faster then a laser bullet
Louder than an atom bomb
Chromium plated boiling metal
Brighter than a thousand suns
Flying high on rapture
Stronger free and brave
Nevermore encaptured
They've been brought back from the grave
With mankind resurrected

Forever to survive
Returns from Armageddon to the skies

Overall Meaning

Angra's song Painkiller is a tribute to the mighty and powerful Painkiller, a half man half machine creature with a terrifying scream and full of anger, who rides the metal monster with smoke and fire emanating from his being. This creature is a savior of mankind, coming from the skies in answer to their pleas. The lyrics depict Painkiller as a fierce force that obliterates evil and is the answer to all the problems plaguing the planet. He comes with lightning speed, faster than a bullet and has the power to devastate planets and bring mankind to its knees. The song is a celebration of everything that is powerful and unstoppable - a loud and chaotic screed that leaves no room for doubt about the might of the Painkiller.

The song also artfully uses metaphors to describe the power of Painkiller. He is compared to a laser bullet and an atom bomb, while his metal monster is described as boiling and bright as a thousand suns. The imagery of Painkiller flying high on rapture, free and brave, nevermore encaptured, is extremely evocative and sparks the listener's imagination. The lyricist's choice of words creates an epic feel to the song, as if it is being narrated from the perspective of a great storyteller, and builds up the spectacle of Painkiller in the mind of the listener.

Fascinante.

@murderface3r

Pena que faleceu... imagina ele cantando Ressurrection

@bestialinvision

Versão original >>>>Versão do Death>>>Versão do Angra.

@viniciusoaguiar

@@bestialinvision ele não foi desrespeitoso. Menos né?

@bestialinvision

@viniciusoaguiar

@pliniomarquesjunior4039

Bom cantor, mas Rob Halford é o Deus do Metal. Ponto.
Nota 4,0 pra essa versão.

@fathermetalASMR
