They have released three studio albums, A Book Like This (2007), which peaked at No. 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart; Down the Way (2010), reached No. 1; and their self-titled album (2014). At the ARIA Music Awards of 2010 they won five awards from nine nominations: winning Album of the Year, Best Adult Alternative Album, Best Cover Art and Producer of the Year for Down the Way and Single of the Year for "Big Jet Plane".
Released in March 2010, their album “Down The Way” debuted at #1 on Australia’s ARIA Charts enjoying a remarkable 12 months inside the ARIA Top 20 albums chart. It went on to pick up Album Of The Year at the 2010 ARIA Awards and includes the platinum selling Single Of The Year ‘Big Jet Plane’; which was most notably voted No.1 on the 2011 annual Triple j Hottest 100. The album has hit triple platinum (210,000+) sales in the Stones’ home country, the only Australian artist album to reach this milestone on the current ARIA Top 50 albums chart.
European audiences have also fallen head over heels in love with “Down The Way”. Reaching platinum (100,000+) album status in France, supported by a hugely successful film sync with ‘Big Jet Plane’ for the movie, Les Émotifs Anonymes. Extended sold out tours are not limited to native Australia with the 2011 French tour including 5 ‘Le Trianon’ Paris shows selling out 2 months before the tour commenced. The UK, Germany, Austria, Spain & Portugal are all just a taste of the frequent European tour destinations with sell out shows. In the US, their dramatic and lush soundscapes have found homes on prime time dramas; Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice and key slots at iconic US festivals Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo and Coachella.
Travelling has been an integral part of the Stone’s musical story, so it’s not surprising they opted to record “Down The Way” in a number of diverse locations around the globe; an old sawmill on the river banks of Fowey in Cornwall, a studio in Brooklyn, a water tank in Coolangatta, London - and Queens in New York.
“Down The Way” marked their debut as producers, taking full control of their sound without losing the spirit of what made the first record ‘A Book Like This’ so special. There has been a subtle shift of gear, represented by a growing confidence in their abilities as artists and the music follows suit as it flows easily through sparse and rich textured arrangements without losing any of its etherealness and charm.
With an incredible response to “Down The Way” from all corners of the globe, Angus and Julia Stone will take some well-deserved time off and prepare for their next step along a remarkable musical journey.

Angus & Julia Stone Lyrics

"Love me 'til the day I die"
Surrender my everything
'Cause you made me believe you're mine
Yeah, you used to call me baby
Now you're calling me by name
Takes one to know one, yeah
You beat me at my own damn game
Pushing and pushing and I'm pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take
Give and you take
Youngblood
Say you want me, say you want me out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight
Like you need it, yeah, you need it all of the time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Lately our conversations
Sound like it's the last goodbye
One of us gets too drunk
And calls about a hundred times
So, who you been calling baby?
Nobody could take my place
When you're looking at those strangers
Hope to God you see my face
Pushing and pushing and pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take
Give and you take
Pushing and pushing and pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take
Youngblood
Say you want me, say you want me out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight
Like you need it, yeah, you need it all of the time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Youngblood
So you want me, so you want me back in your life
And I'm just a dead man crawling tonight
Yes I need it, yeah, need it all of the time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Pushing and pushing and pulling away
Pulling away from you
I give and I give and I give and you take
Give and you take
You're pushing and pushing and pulling away
Pulling away from you
You're running around (running away)
Running away
From you (from you)
From you
Youngblood
Say you want me, say you want me out of your life
And I'm just a dead man walking tonight
Like you need it, yeah, you need it all of the time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Youngblood
So you want me, so you want me back in your life
And I'm just a dead man crawling tonight
Say I need it, yeah, I need it all of the time
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh, ooh
The lyrics to Angus & Julia Stone's song "Youngblood" delve into the complexities of a tumultuous relationship that has reached its breaking point. The verses bring to light the initial promise of love that was made by the singer's partner, but now that promise feels empty and unfulfilled. The line "Remember the words you told me, 'Love me 'til the day I die'" shows a stark contrast between the past and the present, where the partner's affections have waned. The singer feels betrayed because their partner used to refer to them affectionately, but now refers to them by name, implying a loss of intimacy and connection. The line "Takes one to know one, yeah, you beat me at my own damn game" suggests that the partner has become just as cold and distant as the singer has been.
The chorus emphasizes the disintegrating state of the relationship. The phrase "Pushing and pushing and I'm pulling away" highlights the constant struggle and distance between the two, with the singer unable to fully detach themselves. The line "I give and I give and I give and you take, give and you take" portrays the imbalanced nature of the relationship, where the partner constantly takes without reciprocating.
As the song progresses, it becomes clear that the relationship is on the verge of collapse. The lyrics reveal how their conversations now sound like final goodbyes, with one of them often drunk-dialing the other repeatedly. The line "Who you been calling baby? Nobody could take my place" showcases the singer's desperation to hold onto the relationship, suggesting that they know deep down that their partner won't find anyone better.
Ultimately, the chorus repeats to emphasize the cycle of pushing and pulling in their relationship, with the singer feeling trapped. The song concludes with the repeated plea of "Youngblood," symbolizing the immaturity and recklessness of their love, and how it has caused them both pain.

This was obviously a lot better than the original one. So authentic, for the people who don't know the song they could say this would be the original one.
