I patiently listened to your testimony and it truly broke my heart. Those who have hurt you will pay the price, without forgiveness for perpetrating something so utterly and horrifically embarrassing and psychologically painful.

Honestly, this is why it's very dangerous to have an affair. Usually the women who will sleep with a married man have some issues. It's not normal to be okay with being the other woman or a homewrecker. These woman also know the men will delete any messages or pics asap because they're afraid their wife will see them. So there goes your proof if they decide to pull an April.

So men and women, please listen, stop sleeping with people while you're married. Get a divorce, be single, ask for an open relationship where your spouse can do the same, no cheating!

Was I okay with that? No... I wasn't. However, her infidelity lead me to a much happier place. She was a horrible person and I am now married to the sweetest woman on the face of the earth. I actually had no intention of ever marrying again, that's how horrible my experience was with my ex. But, after 10 years unattached, and 4 years dating my current wife, we've now been married for 15 years.

@Paul Weston -- I'm saying that marriage isn't what people think it is. I had a very interesting conversation with a client of mine. I mentioned that a colleague, whose identity I did not reveal, had asked me and another colleague (a woman) for personal advice (she had recently gotten married and she and her husband were both virgins when they married). It was a very innocent question asking us whether it was normal for a husband to want sex all the time. We told her that yes, it's perfectly natural, and he'll calm down eventually... but added that, if she's not in the mood or too tired, to not feel bad about telling him.

My client mentioned to me that, "all of his friends who married when they were still virgins, were still married... those who weren't... not so much." He asked me if I had any ideas why. I told him that I thought it probably had something to do with having the patience to wait, which might give someone a different perspective about commitment. However, I remembered this article and told him to check it out because I found the subject and people's differing perspectives about what marriage means to them, what it meant in the past and what it means in the modern world... very interesting.

AKA - "Other opinions exist". Asking someone what their marriage means to them is like asking someone what their religion means to them. Everyone has a different perspective and picks and chooses the things they like and don't like. A lot of people these days have "open marriages", which I find astounding... however, if that's what they want and their partner agrees, more power to them. It's none of my business. It's also none of this particular poster's business to tell everyone, just stay faithful and you'll have no problems. That's not true... remaining faithful doesn't guarantee that. Because she can't possibly know the details of anyone else's situation, or what they've agreed to. It's none of our business... When they came to me for advice, I did not tell her to stop (she had begun thinking of suicide, until the affair)... I instead told her to be careful and that she really needed to reassess her marriage (for her own safety, if nothing else). She eventually divorced and got away from him The affair didn't work out (she became concerned for his safety and had to move out of state to get away from the psycho she was married to). She's fine now though, and we've remained friends (she's now living with a very nice woman, and I hope they're happy together). Point is, it's none of anyone's business what anyone else does in regards to their marriage. And there is no ONE SIZE FITS ALL advice when it comes to marriage... including infidelity. I was me too'd 20 years ago before metoo was a thing. Girl said I did something that I didn't do, I actually turned her advances down as I had a girlfriend, so she made a load of stuff up. I was beaten up by a group of lads, my "friends" turned there back on me and didn't believe me, only lasted 2 weeks until she told the truth. Never had a apology though. I think more people need to see this and know this. I remember distancing myself from the MeToo movement because to be honest, as a victim of SA, they seem more like an angry man-hating mob than a source of refuge for ALL victims. I don't agree with the blindly believe words. I think that condemnation needs to be suspended until proof is evident. Any man in a position of power can be accused of harassment simply bc he has the power and his partner was in a position below him on the Tottum pole. In Andy's case, bc he was the boss and she worked for him, their affair could be construed as something she had no control over bc she feared retaliation at work. Those cut and bruises are self inflicted. The hair was cut out. You dont get puss and redness from hair being pulled out in a day. That was caused by the glue used for extensions. HOWEVER That does not justify someone creating a lie of some thing far more damaging-You were both the victims of women putting back women for decades and I’m sorry for that. As a kid I mostly had guy friends, lots of brothers and male students from the all boys school where my mom taught... That's why I could never blindly trust a woman simply because she claims to be a victim without A. Seeing some proof, and b. Hearing from the other side. My father and I went through something similar; even though we were eventually vindicated, the damage had been done and we lost something irreplaceable thanks to one person's malice.

Thank you for speaking out about this. For bringing attention to how people abuse their privilege for personal gain with a complete disregard for the irreparable harm they cause others, so long as their selfish agendas are fulfilled.

I think it makes true victims scared to come forward when people lie and accuse others for their own gains. I think it takes courage to make the statement I’ve just watched and accolade to you admitting that you made foolish mistakes but it doesn’t mean you are a sexual predator. Being a survivor it makes me so angry that some women can be so quick to accuse and name and shame where for real victims we feel the shame and just want to ignore and forget it ever happened as long as we can. I feel sorry for men as it takes just one woman to make defamation accusation and that stays with them for life mentally and can be very destructive to loved ones concerned. It sounds from your statement that you have taken on board these lessons and had a lot of self reflection which I just want to shout praise for you

This movement seems to bring out the worst opportunity seekers . Sadly there is no easy way to realise who has the potential to become toxic going forward. It would seem that the “me too” movement has managed to produce some of the worst opportunistic humans who seek whatever by admission of abuse. Sadly when those who devised the “me to” movement, only had the best of intentions for creating it. Never did I believe that the results that have surfaced from this movements could have foreseen the horrors being created along with the actual devastating results from some of the backlash. What was meant to be a positive , well intentioned idea has became a monster in a box. There is no way to easily defend ones self when being accused of abuse. Only with the most obvious of ways can the innocent maintain their innocence which is by avoidance. Sadly avoidance for those who are now being forced to produce ones innocence its a difficult process. A process which is never going to be easy . Best way to avoid this monster is to not do anything that can not be done right out in front of everyone and be very selective who one becomes involved with. And then hold your breath that you are not misjudging your decision to make new friends?!?! 🧐👍🏻
