(4) A rock band from Poland.
As underground as a mole; as explosive as a Talib band from Rzeszow known as Animus has been working in its present squad since about half of May ‘07, when - in the same time - Tomasz Piotrowski (bass) and Grzegorz Ziemba (throat) appeared.
But in fact, band’s roots reach the 4th day of 2007, when Maciej Prokop (1st guitar), Dominik Woźniak (2nd guitar) and Michał Balogh (drums) finally made up their minds about cooperation under mystic name ‘Pół Dupy Zza Centrali’ /A half of an ass from behind a bass drum/. Songs created during the time between January and May curved the form of their later activity.
After nine months of pregnanting its own blare, Animus /hardly/ managed to take part in a rock off chalange known as ‘Ro(c)kowa Noc’ /Rock Night/, and it was greeted with public’s prize.
Band’s sound is a fusion of different inspirations, music visions and ways of perciving noise of each crew member, that drifts somewhere between - diametrical different – conventions, balances on an noisy edge of planed-mistakes experiment and classic, powered by ethnic motives and lots of energy.
Lyrics are wierd parabols, that blend varied word-plays and symbols in order to form an unitary and unrepeatable atmosphere of each composition.
(5) An acoustic project from Austria.

Lieber Gott, bitte beschütze mich vor all meinen Freunden
Mein Gebet gegen all eure Kugeln
In the lyrics of "Exodus" by Animus, the artist reflects on his journey through challenges and betrayals while navigating the music industry and the streets. At the beginning of the song, he talks about facing obstacles at a young age, shaping paths to success through setbacks, and valuing the lessons learned from failures over superficial achievements. He criticizes those who compromise their integrity for publicity and money, contrasting their temporary gains with his aim to leave a lasting legacy through his art. The lyrics suggest a deeper understanding of the dynamics of success and the sacrifices required to maintain authenticity in a world driven by profit and appearances.
As the song progresses, Animus delves into the personal struggles and sacrifices he has faced in pursuit of his dreams. He acknowledges the times he felt betrayed and left alone, likening the experience to being stabbed in the back by the streets. Despite the challenges, he expresses a determination to keep moving forward, even if it means risking his life to fulfill his aspirations. The references to being judged and misunderstood highlight the conflicts between staying true to oneself and meeting society's expectations. Animus portrays his journey as a constant battle between survival and self-discovery, emphasizing the resilience needed to navigate through adversities in life.
The lyrics also touch upon the theme of faith and divine protection amidst personal and external challenges. Animus questions the authenticity of wealth and societal justice, seeking solace and guidance from a higher power in a world where deception and greed prevail. He acknowledges the importance of discerning true from false narratives, underscoring the need to rely on one's inner strength and beliefs to overcome adversities. Through his introspective verses, Animus conveys a sense of vulnerability and defiance against the oppressive forces that seek to undermine his authenticity and artistic expression.
In the final verses of the song, Animus reflects on the evolution of his artistry and the emotional toll of his experiences. He shares his journey from crafting his first rhymes at a young age to achieving success in the music industry, highlighting the emotional and personal growth he has undergone. Despite the challenges and struggles, he remains steadfast in his commitment to inspiring and empowering the youth to defy societal expectations and stereotypes. The lyrics encapsulate Animus's resilience, determination, and unwavering belief in his purpose, positioning his Exodus as a symbol of rebirth and transformation in the face of adversities.

Hey,
