Connect
Another Michael Lyrics

I think about it all
Is this the only place?
Someday I'll grow too tall
Get away from nothing
Nothing like I am something
Gone, like the penny in my pocket and the drum key
I still love the old days
I′ve stayed up way too late
I thought about it all
Is this the only place?
Someday you'll prove me wrong
I'm still younger than my father when he moved here for adventure
And younger than the company we have here for nice parties
Trade motion to emotive singers telling me they′re sorry
I try to connect
I try to connect
I try to connect
I try to connect
I try to connect, I
And I′ve missed out on old faces
Restating old cases
I stay up way too late
I think about it all
I try to connect
I try to connect
I try to connect
I try to connect it all
The thought of it makes me trip and fall
Who am I to blame?
You'd appreciate my bedroom walls
Don′t you know my name?
Don't you know my name at all?
The lyrics of Another Michael's song Connect reflect the struggles of a person trying to fit in or connect with others while dealing with the fear of being rejected or not accepted. The first stanza starts with the singer pondering about their existence, questioning if they belong to this place or not. The phrase "Get away from nothing, nothing like I am something" reflects the inner turmoil of the singer, who feels like they have not achieved anything significant in life. The lyrics "Gone, like the penny in my pocket and the drum key" may suggest the fleeting nature of things, how we lose things that we deem valuable, and how the singer feels lost and insignificant.
The second verse starts with the phrase "I still love the old days, You still love to erase," which seems to suggest that the singer is still clinging to the past while the others are trying to move forward. The following lines "I'm still younger than my father when he moved here for adventure and younger than the company we have here for nice parties" indicate the generational gap, and how the singer feels like they don't quite fit in, as they are still young and inexperienced compared to others. The line "Trade motion to emotive singers telling me they're sorry" may suggest the singer's inability to express their emotions, or how they feel misunderstood by others.
The chorus "I try to connect" is repeated multiple times throughout the song, emphasizing the struggle to connect with others, while the lines "And I've missed out on old faces, Restating old cases" indicate the regrets of the past and the desire to reconnect with people from the past. The final lines "The thought of it makes me trip and fall, Who am I to blame? You'd appreciate my bedroom walls, Don't you know my name? Don't you know my name at all?" may suggest the singer's insecurities and the fear of being forgotten or ignored.

Aw don’t say that. That seems depressing. It’s possible for talent like this to come back into this world again. I know it is. Just need someone to make good music(not become a rapper), please the youth, loves people genuinely, and be a great GREAT dancer. Then there you go. It’s totally possible. I believe it is.
I want to be that person. Just to bring some sort of positivity back into this world again....
