After The Fall
Anshelle Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
No need to rehash my old fears and mistakes
I paid my dues and went through hell just as much as you
No need to worry 'cause my life is just great
Maybe it was time to let go
Maybe this is just what I want to be
I appreciate your good advice but
All my hopes and dreams are one now
And I'm not frightened anymore
I knew the sun would catch me someday
′Cause this is life after all
Maybe it was time to let go
Maybe this is just what I want to be
I appreciate your good advice but
I don′t care if that's what you need
All my hopes and dreams are one now
And I′m not frightened anymore
I knew the sun would catch me someday
'Cause this is life after all
All my hopes and dreams are one now
And I′m not searching anymore
I knew that one day it would be my turn
There must be a rising after, after the fall
After the fall
After the fall
After the fall
After the fall
Anshelle's song "After The Fall" is a declaration of freedom from the judgement and expectations of others. The singer refuses to dwell on past mistakes and fears, recognizing that she has "paid her dues" and come out stronger on the other side. In the face of others' advice and concerns, she asserts her right to pursue her own goals and desires. The lyrics suggest a sense of empowerment and self-confidence, as the singer embraces her hopes and dreams and looks forward to a bright future.
The song's opening lines set the tone for the rest of the lyrics, with the singer calling for an end to discussions of her past mistakes. She asserts that she has already dealt with her fears and challenges, and that her life is now in a good place. This sense of closure and resolution is reinforced by the refrain, which speaks of life "after the fall" - suggesting that the singer has already experienced a difficult time and has emerged stronger for it. The repeated phrase "Maybe it was time to let go" reinforces the idea that the singer is ready to move on from past struggles and focus on the present and future.
Overall, "After The Fall" is a song of self-acceptance and empowerment. The singer asserts her right to pursue her own path, free from the judgement and expectations of others. The refrain suggests that she has already overcome past challenges and is ready for whatever comes next, with a sense of hope and optimism.
