Sometimes
Antarctigo Vespucci Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
But i just have to float this out there
That I′ve been feeling detached
My mind's was moving too fast
And it′s so hard to let things go
Sometimes
I want to go
And see if it's still there
I hold steady to commitments
That i made many years ago
My life's a roll of the dice
It′s all subjectively nice
It only makes sense if you′re in it
Sometimes
I want to go
Back where I lost my faith
And see if it's still there
And see if it′s still there
And I don't have anything to say
But i want you to look at me
As i rip my heart out
Theres nothing left to pay
All hope and dreams are dead
And that′s all I have
Sometimes
I want to go
Back where I lost my faith
And see if it's still there
Sometimes
I want to go
Back where I lost my faith
And see if it′s still there
And see if it's still there
And see if it's still there
And see if it′s still there
And see if it′s still there
The lyrics to Antarctigo Vespucci's song "Sometimes" touch upon themes of detachment, contemplation, and a longing for reassurance and validation. The song opens with a sense of doubt and a self-awareness that the subject being addressed might not fully comprehend these emotions. The singer expresses feeling disconnected and overwhelmed by the speed of their thoughts, making it difficult to let go of certain things. This suggests a struggle with mental or emotional processing.
The chorus reveals a desire to revisit a time in the past when the singer lost their faith, suggesting a search for self-discovery and an attempt to reconnect with their beliefs and values. It's a yearning to revisit a pivotal moment or turning point in their life to see if that sense of faith or purpose still exists. This longing for validation or confirmation reflects a deeper personal journey that the singer is undertaking.
The second verse reinforces the singer's commitment to decisions made in the past, implying a sense of stability and loyalty. However, there is an acknowledgment that life is uncertain and unpredictable, like a roll of the dice. The phrase "it only makes sense if you're in it" conveys that these commitments may not necessarily make sense to others, emphasizing the individuality of the singer's choices.
The bridge captures a moment of vulnerability and a desire for attention or acknowledgement. The singer wants to be seen as they metaphorically "rip their heart out," suggesting a willingness to expose their true emotions and vulnerabilities. The line "All hope and dreams are dead, and that's all I have" reveals a sense of despair or resignation, indicating that the singer's hopes and dreams may have been shattered or lost.
Overall, "Sometimes" delves into introspection, uncertainty, and the longing to regain a sense of faith and connection. It explores the complexities of personal growth and the internal struggles that one may face along the way.

Love this song!! Sooo catchy, and I love the bongo drumming (please correct me if I'm wrong about it being a bongo drum). The album "Soulmate stuff" is incredible! But, I wouldn't expect anything less from the lead singer of Fake Problems. Such a great album to hold us over until the newest Fake Problems album comes out.
