In Christ Alone
Anthem Lights Lyrics

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my Light, my Strength, my Song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Form through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when striving cease
My comforter, my all in all
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground his body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave he rose again
And as he stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am his, and he is mine
Bought by the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power in hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from his hand
Til he returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

Is sinking sand, is sinking sand
So I'll stand

@K. Hendrickson

Hi K. Hendrickson!

How are you? Hope you and your family are doing well and staying safe during these scary COVID times.

Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave me a post. I appreciate it.

I agree with you. Roeliene probably isn't ready to hear the truths I shared with her in my post, however, that doesn't mean it didn't need to be said. So many people are dying every day, now more than ever because of this pandemic we're currently dealing with. Sadly, many are going to hell due to the fact they believe they're a "good person" and because they refuse to give up their sins. Others are going to hell simply because they don't know who Jesus is or why he came into the world or why he died on the cross. That's because many people are spiritually ignorant as I once was before God saved me. But one of the great things evangelism does, I believe, is that it removes the blinders, or to put in more biblical terms, the veil or scales (as Saul/Paul had) from a person's eyes so that they can clearly "see" who God is and what he has done for them because of his sacrifice on the cross.

I remember when I was in my early 20s and how "blind" and ignorant I was when it came to God. I was so ignorant that I actually believed that only "good people" went to heaven and bad went to hell. Little did I realize at that time, that I was one of those bad people on my way to hell because of my sins. In learning how to use the 10 Commandments in evangelism, the way Jesus did, there came a point in my life where God used those same 10 Commandments to bring the knowledge of sin to my understanding, which led me out of a 15 year false conversion and into a true and saving relationship with Jesus Christ. One day, in the privacy of my bedroom, I threw myself on his mercy, and with tears streaming down my face, I repented of my sins and put my trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of my sins. When God could have justifiably sent me to hell and been done with me, he chose to be gracious and save me instead. When I think about this amazing rescue from God and all he has done for me and how he has changed my life for the better these last 15 years, how can I possibly keep the Gospel from somebody else? No, I want to share the Gospel with as many people as I possibly can while I'm still here, because in heaven, evangelism won't exist anymore; everyone there will be a Christian. That's why I want to evangelize now while I still can, and YouTube is a great way to share the Gospel with millions of people all over the world, regardless of what language they speak.

People who die without Christ and without his forgiveness, will have no excuse for having done so when they stand before him to be judged by him, as we all will someday. The unsaved won't be able to say to God on that day:

"God, I didn't know my sins were an offense to you. I didn't know that my sins could even be forgiven and that I could receive eternal life."

And God will remind that person of everyone who ever tried to share the soul saving message of his wonderful Gospel with them.

Are you familiar with Penn Jillette, famous magician and devout atheist? He did a video sometime ago, sharing his beliefs as to what he thinks about Christians who share their faith. If you're interested in hearing his views on the subject, just put into the YouTube search bar: a gift of a Bible. His views are very encouraging, considering they're coming from someone who doesn't even believe that God exists.

Thanks again for posting and for letting me share my views with you on the subject of evangelism. Be well, stay safe, and God bless you.

@K. Hendrickson
1. I was raised in an evangelical home, and visited different types of churches, from Catholic to reformed.

2. Im not on the run. I just realised christianity wasn't true. You can't run from something you don't believe in. I don't assume you feel like you're running from Allah, even though a Muslim would probably say that you are.

3. I'm sorry you feel you can't trust your feelings. That's a big part of the Christian dogma, so I get where it comes from. Don't trust your feeble heart, etc. Feelings are actually quite useful to know if you are being true to yourself and if your beliefs line up with your actions. Listening to them greatly improves your life, at least mine. Can't speak for you of course.

4. I used to believe, but then I grew up and I realised it's all about evidence. And there just isn't any good evidence for god, let alone Christianity specifically. The world makes much more sense from a naturalistic perspective, at least from where I'm standing. I understand you see things differently.

5. I find it interesting Christians tend to think atheist are in rebellion. Why do you assume they are? If by rebellion you mean 'wanting to sin', then you are deeply mistaken. I've become a better person since denouncing my faith, and I've never been the 'sinning' type. Not that I believe in the concept of sin anymore, but ok.

6. I wonder what you're talking about when you were 'on the run'. It can't be being an atheist. Because if you were, you wouldn't describe that period as such. I assume the phase you're describing came with loads of guilt because you felt you were betraying god by not spending enough time with him. And it felt great for a while because you did some things you couldn't do while being devout. This is my assumption, feel free to shake it up.
