And I feeling so small, it was over my head
And know nothing at all
And I was stumble and fall
I'm still learn to love
Just starting to call
Say something I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere I will would fallowed you
Say something I'm giving up on you
And I was swallow my high
You're the one that I love
And I'm saying goodbye
Say something I'm giving up on you
I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you
Anywhere I will would fallowed you
Say something I'm giving up on you

Say something I'm giving up on you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Anthem Lights' song "Say Something" depict a person who is feeling defeated and ready to give up on a relationship. The song expresses the singer's willingness to be there for their partner if they still desire their presence, but they have reached a point where their faith in the relationship is dwindling. It conveys a sense of resignation and heartache as they come to terms with their own limitations and realization that they cannot save the relationship alone.

The lines "And I was stumbling and fall/ I'm still learning to love/ Just starting to crawl" depict the singer's vulnerability and admission of their own mistakes and shortcomings. They acknowledge that they are still in the process of understanding love and may have made their fair share of mistakes. The repetition of the phrase "Say something I'm giving up on you" throughout the song emphasizes their desperation for any sign of hope or willingness from their partner.

The closing lines "I'm sorry that I couldn't get to you/ Anywhere I would've followed you/ Say something, I'm giving up on you" signify the finality of their decision to give up. They express regret for their inability to reach their partner, for their own limitations in saving the relationship. Despite their profound sadness, they have come to a point where they can no longer keep holding on.

+bj bell i guess because the videos vocal/visual synchronization is so messed up it kinda distracted me from the song.... I have a special preference for the Pentatonix version because it was the first time i ever heard that song (i know i know) and after that it kinda meant alot to me,not to mention that it was stuck in my head and kept me up all night the next night;P i think i will listen to it again without watching the video because it is just too distracting and i think the video itself just takes away from the song. Every single other of their covers though are sooooo good and way better than the originals. I am really excited for the new mashups that are coming out because i think thats their forte.

@Brish Courser ive heard several versions of this song.. i thought pentatonix did this song the best at first, until Anthem lights smoked the other like 10 covers i heard of this song... but i think pentatonix makes it sound cool with good vocals but anthem lights gives amazing vocals and more emotion.

Brish Courser

Lol you must look up Pentatonix version!
