Again I'm a disgrace
I cannot handle the drinks and the drugs
And in the end I'm all fucked up
Again and again to much drugs and alcohol
Again and again I'm out of control
The lyrics of "Out of Control" by Antidote vividly depict the singer's struggle with addiction, particularly with drugs and alcohol. In the first verse, the singer admits to being under the influence and unable to handle the substance abuse, resulting in being a "disgrace" to himself and others. The second verse reiterates this issue, acknowledging the cyclical pattern of substance abuse and being "all messed up" because of it. The repeated phrase "again and again" emphasizes the addiction's repetitive nature and the singer's difficulty in breaking free from its hold on him.
This song highlights the devastating effects of addiction on an individual's life and relationships, as well as the feelings of hopelessness and despair that come with it. The raw emotions conveyed through the lyrics are further emphasized by the band's punchy instrumentation and intense vocals, making for a powerful and impactful song.
