Elvis was Right! Fats was the greatest of all time . . . a national treasure from New Orleans . . . a unique one of a kind singer and piano player. It's his shoulders that so many rockers stood on in the 60's, and the only person the Beatles wanted to meet after their show in New Orleans!

My dad used to have all records of Fats Domino I used to love it when he'd put them on and teach me to dance to this. Thank you for posting it brings back lovely memories of my dad. He passed away in 2015 at 78 yrs old. Bless you and miss u so much dad 😔

@@holliswilliams8426 Forget how to sing? Please watch Ghost Love Score by Nightwish. The frontwoman is Floor Jansen, she can sing like no other. The Wacken show is one of the best versions. This is not screaming, roaring death metal. It is called symphonic metal and this band is from Finland, so it has a distinct Viking sound to it. Not just distorted guitars but much more melody.

I agree plenty of singers sound mediocre nowadays, but there are still great ones out there.

@@holliswilliams8426 I would disagree greatly. Joey Belladonna from Anthrax is probably one of the most talented singers alive, regardless of genre. His work on Among the Living is top notch and shows a lot of range. Best Thrash singer by far.

Also Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse has some great death metal vocal talent. He doesn't just mumble like a lot of death metal singers. He gives that kind of gory death metal a lot of character and he's a genuinely nice guy with great stage presence. No one headbangs quite as good, and a good frontman is more than just vocal talent.

Honorable mention goes to Dave Grohl. I love the way the guy sings, and his drum skills are absolutely legendary, in my opinion, probably the best drummer alive.

All of this is subjective, sure, but some talents are clearly objective, such as range for example.

@@AntonioPucelas Not a degree, just doing it as an elective. But it's not really a textbook but more of a tailored online course, based off a textbook called Renegades to Icons. Most colleges probably have a subject similar to this but I personally wouldn't recommend what I'm doing specifically, it's a lot of watching documentaries and nothing else. I'd just buy a textbook yourself and read it if that's all you care about.

This was before my time (I’m close to 50 years old). However, my Mom had all of his records from her teen years and I later studied jazz. This is where it’s at and even though my Mom never became a musician, she had one of the best record collections that influenced my ears at an early age.

That's awesome. You're so lucky. I would do the same for my kid if i had one. Expose them to the best music. I'm just discovering rhythm & blues back then, my favorite era, after discovering and researching Elvis. Ella Fitzgerald is my favorite female singer.
