Before their unfortunate demise, Apocalypse Hoboken toured with the likes of The Vandals, The Ataris, Ten Foot Pole, Less Than Jake, Swingin' Utters, Agent Orange, Guttermouth, Strung Out, Bigwig, Suicide Machines, At the Drive In, Murder City Devils, and appeared on West Coast dates of the Warped Tour.
Their last show in 2003 sold out Chicago's Metro, and though they haven't recorded a shred of new music in five years, demand for their live act has never been greater. A reunion at the Abbey Pub with all-original members promises to be a highlight of 2006.

Drunk Helen
Apocalypse Hoboken Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Helen just drank too much
It's not because she's a punk
Helen just drank too much
Helen's rolled up...passed out cold
Helen just drank too much
It's 4 A.M. she's in control
Helen just drank too much
Ride the liquor train tonight
Drunk Helen
Doesn't want to start a fight
Drunk Helen
You've done something good for me
Drunk Helen
Thanks for the L.S.D.
The song "Drunk Helen" by Apocalypse Hoboken is a humorous take on the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption. The lyrics use the character of Helen, who is portrayed as a party-goer who has had too much to drink. The opening lines, "Helen's not a powder puff, Helen just drank too much," reveal that Helen's actions are not necessarily a result of her being a punk or intentionally disruptive, but rather an unintentional outcome of her excessive drinking.
The chorus of the song, featuring the repeated phrase "Drunk Helen," can be interpreted as a commentary on the humorous nature of the situation, as well as a play on the concept of personification. Helen is personified as a drunk, almost cartoonish character, who has "ridden the liquor train tonight" and "done something good" for the singer, perhaps by providing him with LSD.
The song's humorous lyrics are set to an upbeat melody and driving punk-rock rhythm, making it a catchy and entertaining listen. Ultimately, "Drunk Helen" can be interpreted as a reminder to enjoy alcohol in moderation, while also recognizing the amusing and sometimes strange situations that can arise when we indulge too heavily.
