The first stanza of the song talks about a protagonist who is tired of seeing lies and deceit every day. He knows that tomorrow, another day filled with lies, is his curse. Despite feeling his rage boil inside him, he knows that the 'Bloody Sun' will rise again. Here, the phrase 'Bloody Sun' can be interpreted in two ways- one, as a metaphor for the singer's anger and wrath, or two, as an actual occurrence where the sun looks bloody. The chorus talks about the singer's inner conflicts, how fire engulfs his soul, and erases his eyes. He knows that his gift, which is his exceptional ability to wield power, is stronger than ever, but it comes at a terrible cost- his own sanity.
