What A Diff'rence A Day Made
Aretha Franklin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

What a diff'rence a day makes
Twenty-four little hours
Brought the sun and the flowers
Where there used to be rain

My yesterday was blue, dear
Today I'm part of you, dear
My lonely nights are through, dear
Since you said you were mine

What a diff'rence a day makes
There's a rainbow before me
Skies above can't be stormy
Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss

It's heaven when you
Find romance on your menu
What a diff'rence a day makes
And the difference is you

What a diff'rence a day makes
There's a rainbow before me
Skies above can't be stormy
Since that moment of bliss, that thrilling kiss

It's heaven when you
Find romance on your menu

What a diff'rence a day makes
And the difference is you.

Hey Crystal, I found the album Queen Of Soul in a record store in Earls Court, London, in 1968. This is the first track on side 2 but the album is full of songs in this mood. I May Never Get To Heaven, I Apologise, It's Just A Matter Of Time and Follow Your Heart are just a few. Best value album I ever bought.

"The lyrics sound old, but the music is eternal—that joy in discovering that the right person at the right time can open all the windows and unlock all the doors."
