The terrible effects to the baby's brain, body and spirit is most likely what tuckered/knocked her out.
Moreover... she fell asleep because she was finally coddled as she clearly craved. Lie on someone's chest in a slow mood, you will drowse off. Heartbeat rhythm and warmth can lulls us all to sleep, which is why especially young animals do this (and many adults, i.e. cats).
Still... sweet sentiment about the vibe of this song.
