Grande's second studio album, My Everything (2014), continued the pop-R&B sound of its predecessor and incorporated EDM elements. It topped the Billboard 200 and featured four US top-ten singles: "Problem", "Break Free", "Bang Bang", and "Love Me Harder" featuring The Weeknd, the most of any artist that year. Grande's pop-R&B styles extended on her third studio album, Dangerous Woman (2016), which was her first of three consecutive number-one albums in the UK, and spawned top ten hits such as the Grammy nominated title track and "Side to Side".
On her next two albums, Sweetener (2018) and Thank U, Next (2019), Grande experimented with trap while maintaining her characteristic pop-R&B tones; being projects with her most creative control yet and showing a more personal and vulnerable side, both debuted at number one in several countries and were acclaimed by music critics. The former won a Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and spawned the international top three hit "No Tears Left to Cry", while the latter broke several streaming records. Grande became the first solo artist to hold the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously when "7 Rings", "Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" and "Thank U, Next" did so in 2019. She is also the first artist to have the lead singles from each of their first six studio albums debut within the top ten in the US.
Grande released her sixth studio album, Positions (2020) with its lead single, "Positions" debuting at number one in the US and the UK simultaneously. The song became her third number one hit in the US following "Stuck With U" in collaboration with Justin Bieber and "Rain On Me", also in collaboration with Lady Gaga. A deluxe version of Positions was released in February 2021, with four new songs and a remix of "34+35" featuring Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. The remix helped the song peak at number two, the highest-charting song credited to three or more female soloist since 2001 when "Lady Marmalade" performed by Christina Aguilera, Mýa, P!nk, and Lil Kim peaked at number one. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, becoming her fifth album to do so. In April 2021, a remix of The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears" was released featuring Grande. The song reached number one in both the US Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. It spent a total of 69 weeks in the US charts, becoming one of the ten longest-running songs in that chart since its publication.
In November 2021, it was announced that Grande would star in the two-part film adaptation of the musical Wicked. The movie is set to release on November 24th, 2024.
Ariana Grande’s highly anticipated seventh studio album “eternal sunshine" was released on March 8th, 2024. The title references to one of her favourite films, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” which stars Jim Carrey. The lead single “yes, and?" was released on January 12, 2024. This song was inspired by Madonna’s “Vogue”and captures the sound of house. eternal sunshine had a debut at #1 on the Global Spotify charts, and earned the most streamed album in 2024 so far.
Grande has received various accolades, including two Grammy Awards, one Brit Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and three American Music Awards. All five of Grande's full-length albums have been certified platinum by the RIAA. As one of the leading streaming pioneers in the world, she has amassed over 35 billion streams on platforms like YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music and is the most listened female on the latter two. An influential figure on social media, she is an outspoken feminist and supporter for LGBT rights. She asserts control over her public image and is known for her ponytail hairdo and bold fashion statements. In February 2019, she became the most followed woman on Instagram. Forbes ranked her amongst the highest-paid celebrities in 2019, and Time named Grande as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2016 and 2019. Billboard recognized her as the "Woman of the Year" in 2018.

Ariana Grande Lyrics

But you could've held my hands through this
Baby let my mind run underneath warm jets
I run my hands through what's left
But we’re getting older, baby
Don't have much longer, baby
Why am I preaching?
To this choir, to this atheist?
Versions of these belong to you
(Just like mine
Versions of these belong to you)
After a while
They're keeping me close to you
(Just like me) they long to be close to you
In Ariana Grande's song "Close to You," the lyrics depict a sense of emotional detachment and a longing for connection. The opening lines, "If I'm honest, I wasn’t devastated, but you could've held my hands through this," suggest that the singer is expressing their indifference to a previous disappointment or heartbreak. However, they also express a desire for comfort and support from their partner during this difficult time.
The lines "Baby let my mind run underneath warm jets, I run my hands through what's left" depict the singer seeking solace and escape from their thoughts. The warm jets symbolize a form of therapy or mental escape, and running their hands through what's left suggests trying to salvage or find meaning in what remains. This could possibly refer to their relationship, trying to find some solace or understanding within it.
As the song progresses, the lyrics shift towards a reflection on the passing of time and the fleeting nature of life. The lines "But we're getting older, baby, don't have much longer, baby" convey a sense of urgency and the realization that time is limited. The singer questions why they are trying to convince someone who may not share their beliefs or perspective ("To this choir, to this atheist"), emphasizing the futility of their efforts.
The chorus, "Just like mine, versions of these belong to you. After a while, they're keeping me close to you," reveals the underlying theme of longing for emotional closeness. The singer recognizes that others may experience similar emotions and desires, mirroring their own. The repetition of "close to you" echoes this longing, suggesting a need for proximity and emotional connection.
Overall, "Close to You" explores themes of emotional detachment, longing for connection, and the passing of time. It highlights the human desire for understanding, comfort, and emotional closeness, even in the face of indifference or limited time.

on Love Me Harder
Tell me something I need to know
Then take my breath and never let it go
If you just let me invade your space
I'll take the pleasure, take it with the pain
And if in the moment, I bite my lip
Baby, in that moment, you'll know this is
Something bigger than us and beyond bliss
Give me a reason to believe it
'Cause if you want to keep me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder
And if you really need me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder
(Lo-love me harder)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Love me, love me, love me
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Harder, harder, harder
I know your motives and you know mine
The ones that love me, I tend to leave behind
If you know about me and choose to stay
Then take this pleasure and take it with the pain
And if in the moment you bite your lip
When I get you moaning, you know it's real
Can you feel the pressure between your hips?
I'll make it feel like the first time
'Cause if you want to keep me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder
(I'ma love you harder)
And if you really need me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder (love me, baby, love me)
(Lo-love me harder)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Love me, love me, love me
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Harder, harder, harder (oh)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Love me, love me, love me
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Harder, harder, harder (you gotta love me harder)
So what do I do if I can't figure it out? (Figure it out)
You got to try, try, try again, yeah (whoa)
So what do I do if I can't figure it out? (Figure it out)
I'm gonna leave, leave, leave again
'Cause if you want to keep me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder
(I'ma love you, love you, love)
And if you really need me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder
(Got to love me, baby)
'Cause if you want to keep me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta
Got to love me harder
(Love me harder)
And if you really need me
You gotta, gotta, gotta, gotta (I'ma do it, do it, do it)
Got to love me harder
(I'ma love you harder, hey)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Love me, love me, love me (love me)
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Harder, harder, harder
(Boy, you gotta love me, love me, baby)
