El trabajo profesional de Armando Rosas arranca en 1984, año en el que funda Camerata Rupestre, de la cual es compositor y director. Con esta agrupación que fusiona la música de cámara, el blues y la canción alternativa, recorre parte del territorio nacional presentándose en diferentes salas y foros, de entre los que destacan la Sala Manuel M. Ponce del Palacio de Bellas Artes, el Auditorio Nacional y el Palacio de los Deportes. También a participado en el Festival Internacional de Puebla, el Festival de Trova Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México y el Festival del Sol en la ciudad de Chicago (julio 2001)
En el terreno de la música de concierto, su obra ha sido ejecutada por agrupaciones de reconocido prestigio como el Cuarteto de cuerdas Carlos Chávez (hoy Cuarteto de cuerdas de la Ciudad de México), el Ensamble Arión y por el prestigiado marimbista Javier Nandayapa.
