The phased lead melody sounds as if is has transcended some 40 years oozing out of the Phaedra / Rubycon albums from Tangerine Dream. Also the bassline is ever so slightly reminiscent of Froese's sequencers. I don't know if Armin concsiously incorporated those sonic elenents as a tribute to TD, or whether this came subconsciously, considering he was very young when he conceived this track, but I reckon this is his masterpiece. Complex and deep.

I've always adored this track, I'm 50 now and still love every bit of this tune. Music hasn't totally died, it is on it's last legs though. When your sole aim is to rake in the big bucks through music, you kill it, it becomes as tasteless as flat Cola.

It's amazing how refined he was able to make the sound almost 20 years ago. There were still hardware and software limitations on what you could do, and he made THIS. Now he's just a complete fucking master.
