This was followed by the album 'Massive Luxury Overdose' (1991). La Camilla left the band and released a single 'I Am Not In The Mood For Lovers'. The Group replaced La Camilla with Michaela De La Cour, they re-released 'Massive Luxury Overdose' with extra tracks & with De La Cour on the new album artwork.

I've got this itch all over
Oh yeah where
I've got an itchin'
In my heart aha
I've got an itchin'
In my head oh yeah
I've got an itchin'
All over itchin'
Sure all over
I've got to claim the power
I've got to claim the power
I've got to claim the power
Claim it from the highest tower
I cross the rubicon
In thunderstorm
I cross the rubicon
My empire born
I cross the rubicon
In thunderstorm
I cross the rubicon
My empire born
Ludvig what's on
Louis the lower you go
The better I feel
Ludvig the lower I go
The better you feel
Yeah louis the lower you go
The better we both feel
Sure and I'm stuck
I've got to claim the power
I've got to claim the power
I've got to claim the power
Claim it from the highest tower
I cross the rubicon
In thunderstorm
I cross the rubicon
My empire born
I cross the rubicon
In thunderstorm
I cross the rubicon
My empire born
Louis we've got a lot of rivers
To cross in our lives
Oh yeah lots of rivers
And once you crossed the river
There's no way back
Oh sure no return
You're in serious business
Oh yeah you're at the point
Of no return man
I've got to claim the power
I've got to claim the power
I've got to claim the power
Claim it from the highest tower
I cross the rubicon
In thunderstorm
I cross the rubicon
My empire born
I cross the rubicon
In thunderstorm
I cross the rubicon
My empire born
The lyrics of Army of Lovers's song I Cross the Rubicon talk about the singer's need to claim power and cross the Rubicon, which is a metaphorical river that symbolizes a point of no return. The singer suffers from an itch all over their body and wants to claim the power from the highest tower. The song's title references the actual river Rubicon in Italy, which Julius Caesar famously crossed in 49 BC, leading to a civil war and the eventual end of the Roman Republic.
The itches mentioned in the song could represent a restless feeling of wanting to achieve something greater or make a change. The lyrics suggest that crossing the Rubicon is not without risk or challenge, as the singer crosses it in a thunderstorm. The thunderstorm could represent the obstacle or challenge that comes with taking a risk or making a change. Despite the potential dangers, the singer's empire is born, indicating that their risk is a success.
The song's chorus repeats the line "I cross the Rubicon in thunderstorm, my empire born," emphasizing the idea that taking risks and making changes can lead to great success. The dialogue between Louis and Ludvig emphasizes the shared understanding that crossing the Rubicon is a serious and irreversible action.
