Paz formed the outfit in the late 1990s with the original roster of Bahamadia, Chief Kamachi, Virtuoso, 7L & Esoteric, plus Jedi Mind Tricks' other member Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind. The group first released the "Five Perfect Exertions" and "War Ensemble" 12" on Paz's short-lived Recordings in 1998, but then the underground supergroup remained silent for several years. After a couple of successful Jedi Mind Tricks albums and a new deal with Babygrande by 2003, Paz resurrected the crew, adding OuterSpace, Celph Titled, Reef the Lost Cauze, King Syze, Des Devious, and Apathy; however, Stoupe, Bahamadia, and Virtuoso had defected from the group. Babygrande issued their "Tear It Down" 12" and first album, The Torture Papers, in 2006. The 2007 follow-up album, Ritual of Battle, saw Jus Allah and JMT protégés Doap Nixon and Demoz joining the Pharaohs.
The Unholy Terror was released on March 30, 2010. This album marked the return of Apathy and the addition of two new AOTP members, Block McCloud and Journalist. Two songs, "Godzilla" and "Contra Mantra", were released before the album. This album also marked the departure of Chief Kamachi who left the group because of business issues and an apparent feud with Vinnie Paz and Apathy.
In early 2011, Vinnie Paz announced on his Facebook page that In Death Reborn is due to be released in 2012, however the date was pushed back and almost seemed like it was never going to be released. Early in 2012, Houston underground MC VZilla and Connecticut's Blacastan were added to the group. Both artists have made names for themselves with their features and album releases in 2012. In Death Reborn was eventually released on April 22, 2014. The album featured members Vinnie Paz, Apathy, Blacastan, Block McCloud, Celph Titled, Demoz, Des Devious, Doap Nixon, Esoteric, Lawrence Arnell,[8] King Magnetic, King Syze, OuterSpace, Reef the Lost Cauze and VZilla. Their fifth studio album, Heavy Lies the Crown was released on October 21, 2014.

Motherfuckers is back,
Jedi-Mind,
Vinnie Paz,
Jus Allah,
Jedi Mind Tricks,
It aint a game baby,
Jedi Mind Motherfuckers,
Vinnie Paz, yo God Jus Allah,
What the deal, it aint a game baby,
[Verse 1-Vinnie Paz]
I am not human flesh,
The waist line where the Ruger rest,
I'll take Jesus Christ and rob him of his Jewishness,
There's nothing anything or anyone can do to test,
I live inside a jungle all I need is fruit that's fresh,
Can't nobody find me I define elusiveness,
I'm in the darkness in the dungeon where Medusa's kept,
I'll aim the shotty at your body,
Shoot it through your chest,
Then I'll take a second to remind you of your gruesome death,
It aint a question I don't have to prove I'm best,
I been rhymin' since the fuckin' prime of Ricky Ruben's best,
I wouldn't come against the Army, that's a losin' bet,
Throw your motherfuckin body off the roof and jet,
I throw a left hook there aint a fuckin' tooth that's left,
Your body bloodier and holier than Buddha's breath,
I aint fuckin' around with y'all I'm like a dude possessed,
We rockin' crowds from Philadelphia to Bucharest,
It's World War and for me the German Luger's best,
I like the way it kick back and what it do to flesh,
And yo, Jus Allah,
Let em know why you the best,
This is closure, verse is over,
Cuz you is next.
[Verse 2-Jus Allah]
Before you come to bed,
Shut the light, turn the shrunken head,
Soon enough you'll adjust,
Learn to love the dead,
The color red, bloodshed,
Stuff you dread(?) cut the thread,
Watch your head will(?) be tough to tread,
I am unkept, unread, under-fed,
Unsung, unaccredited, unsaid, unedited,
Defective, unaccepted,
Don't expect to see the motherfuckin' unexpected,
May as well pave yourself the way to Hell,
The spell, pace yourself, re-arrange yourself,
May you live to say the story made to tell,
Make your faith and prayer great enough to break the spell,
I'm obsessed with watching deaths,
Rotting flesh,
I'm refreshed by the process, convaless,
Kill the cross-wearers,
Kill their pall-bearers,
Being soft on terror makes coffin sharers,
Snuffed a dead man's odor, I ran over,
Like a cat, at the sound of a can opener,
Put you in the land push a pile of sand over,
Give your family no closure,
Show's over!
In "Blue Steel," Vinnie Paz and Jus Allah of Army of the Pharaohs present themselves as ruthless and unstoppable, boasting about their lyrical prowess and their capacity for violence. The song is a display of their confidence and their disregard for anyone who might challenge them.
Vinnie Paz's verse is filled with vivid imagery of death and destruction. He portrays himself as a nearly invincible force, willing and able to take down anyone who gets in his way. He references his own longevity in the rap game, claiming to have been rhyming since the days of Rick Rubin. He also name-drops the German Luger, a popular handgun used by the Nazi army in World War II, suggesting that he is just as deadly and efficient as a Nazi soldier.
Jus Allah's verse is equally dark and menacing. He describes himself as obsessed with death and decay, and seems to take pleasure in causing pain and suffering. He also alludes to a spell or curse that he is under, suggesting that he is not entirely in control of his own actions. Overall, "Blue Steel" paints a disturbing portrait of two rappers who are consumed by their own egos and their own violent impulses.
