Born in Sarajevo, Bosnia September 7, 1980, music first staked its all-important claim in Arnej’s life around age fourteen when an early computer-composed electronica track snagged his interest. What followed was a stretch of exploration and experimentation within the many and various realms of music. Before long, Arnej settled into Euro dance, eventually stumbling upon Psy and Goa trance in the mid-90’s. He devoted his attention to the works of Man With No Name, Astral Projection and Hallucinogen.
At that time, the trance sound – which he would grow so passionate about – was still in the process of establishing an identity. By the late 90’s though, trance had thoroughly carved out its niche in the music world and Arnej’s interest in it expanded accordingly. Entranced by its complex soundscapes and harmonies, he set about taking the journey into music production. Although the road of a producer has had its fair share of bumps and curves, Arnej’s commitment to his craft shows no sign of slowing up, as as evidenced by his ever-growing body of work.
Some of his more notable and successful tracks include: ‘Rendezvous,’ ‘The Ones That Get Away,’ ‘The Return,’ ‘They Always Come Back’ and ’Strangers We Have Become,’ all of which have gotten positive support from the DJ elite, given exposure by such notable as Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Judge Jules, David Guetta, and Paul Oakenfold, among many others.
Arnej has also remixed for some of the most-respected names in trance, including Armin, The Thrillseekers, Mr. Sam, Blake Jarrell and Push, aka M.I.K.E, as well as some of the newer names in trance to pop up in recent years, Evgeny Bardyuzha, Mike Saint-Jules, and Dash Berlin.

The Six Strings That Drew Blood
*********************************
Guitar thug blew into town
His eyes like wheels spinnin' round
Layin' all his crosses down
O yeah
He got Six Strings
The Six Strings that drew blood
The bar is full of Holy-Joes
A Holy-hole-a-whole-aria
Around the neck of our consumptive rose
is the root of all his sorrows
O yeah
He got Six Strings
Six Strings that drew blood
A Holy-hole-a-whole-aria
Six Strings that drew blood
In the bathroom under cover
He turns on one tap to discover
He's smashed his teeth out on the other
Well he look in the mirror and say
don't fuck me brother
Cause I got Six Strings
Six Strings that drew blood
Numbin' the runt of reputation they call rat fame
Top-E as a tourniquet
A low tune whistles across his grave
Forever the master and the slave of his Six Strings
A Holy-hole-a-whole-aria
Six Strings that drew blood.
Arnej's song The Strings That Bind Us is a captivating and emotional piece that showcases the power of music to elicit strong feelings in listeners. The central theme of the song is the importance of music and the deep emotional connection that people can have with it. The lyrics tell the story of a guitar player who is consumed by his music, and the powerful effect it has on him and those around him.
The opening line of the song introduces the main character as a "guitar thug" who has come to town with his "eyes like wheels spinnin' round." The guitar player is so obsessed with his music that he is "jerkin' off at every sound." He is so consumed by his passion that he has "laid all his crosses down." The guitar player's passion is so intense that it is almost overwhelming, yet he is still able to channel that passion in a way that is incredibly moving for those who hear him play.
The chorus of the song talks about the "Six Strings that drew blood," which refers to the six strings on a standard guitar. The guitar player is so emotionally invested in his music that it feels almost like a physical experience for him, like he is bleeding from his fingers as he plays. The song ends on a melancholy note, with the guitar player staring into the bathroom mirror and telling himself not to "fuck me brother" because he has the six strings that drew blood. This final line is a powerful reminder of the deep emotional connection that people can have with their music, and the power that it can hold over them.
