The song "Ab Der Ho Gayi Vallah" sung by Asha Bhosle conveys deep emotions and longing for a loved one. The repetitive phrase "Ab Der Ho Gayi Vallah" translates to "Now it's getting late, my beloved." It signifies that time is running out and the singer wants their partner to let go of their hold on them.
In the first verse, the singer pleads for their lover to release their pallu, which is a loose end of a saree. This metaphorical act represents freeing oneself from the ties and responsibilities of a relationship. The refrain emphasizes that they will meet again, with the phrase "Phir Milenge Insha Allah" meaning "We will meet again, God willing."
The second verse portrays the singer's pain and vulnerability. They beg their partner not to stop their cruel and heartless behavior. The mention of feeling cold suggests emotional detachment and indifference from the lover. The singer warns that if they are not valued, they will die, exclaiming "Mar Jaungi Mein Uii Allah" which conveys their extreme emotional distress.
The third verse expresses the singer's desire to be free from the constraints of love. They want their lover to allow them to leave and grant them permission to move on. The singer makes a promise to return, saying "Kal Aungi Insha Allah" meaning "I will come tomorrow, God willing."
The final verse addresses a higher power, with the words "Achha Sarkar Khuda Hafiz" meaning "Goodbye, my dear God." The singer questions why they have been abandoned and left alone, seeking the understanding and guidance of God. The repetition of the phrase "Kya Kehne Hain Subhan Allah" reinforces the search for answers and the acceptance of the divine will.
Overall, the lyrics of "Ab Der Ho Gayi Vallah" tell a story of longing, heartbreak, and the need for freedom. The singer's plea for release and their acknowledgement of potential reunions with their lover and God remain central themes throughout the song.
