Oh oh oh
I'm unashamed of my mistakes
I walked the path I had to take
It's made me who I am today
This reign of hate is done
We're gonna take this over now
Here I am
This is all of me
I'm not hiding
I'm standing tall for all to see
Here I am
There is nothing bigger
Nothing brighter than a future I see
So if you find it hard to breathe
You can put your faith in me
I'll be the light that leads your way
We are the voice of a generation
So take your chance and don't back down
Here I am
This is all of me
I'm not hiding
I'm standing tall for all to see
Here I am
There is nothing bigger
Nothing brighter than a future I see
Take this chance
Take a stand
Take this chance
Don't back down
Take this chance (oh oh oh)
Take a stand (oh oh oh)
Take this chance (oh oh oh)
Don't back down (oh oh oh)
Here I am
This is all of me
I'm not hiding
I'm standing tall for all to see
Here I am
There is nothing bigger
Nothing brighter than a future I see
So take this chance
Don't back down
Take a stand
And never let them bring you down, so
Take this chance
Don't back down
And never let them bring you down
Take this chance
Don't back down
Take a stand
And never let them bring you down
The song "Here I Am" by Asking Alexandria is an anthemic declaration of self-acceptance, perseverance and determination to overcome any challenge that one may encounter in life. The opening lyrics "I'm unashamed of my mistakes, I walked the path I had to take, It's made me who I am today" suggest that the singer has no regrets about the choices they've made in life, even if they weren't always the easiest or the most conventional ones. The lines "This reign of hate is done, We're gonna take this over now, And we've only just begun" indicate that the singer is ready to move on from any negativity or destructive patterns in their life and start anew with a sense of purpose and hope.
The chorus "Here I am, This is all of me, I'm not hiding, I'm standing tall for all to see" reaffirms the notion of self-acceptance and advocates for authenticity and vulnerability, rather than hiding one's true self. The line "There is nothing bigger, Nothing brighter than a future I see" suggests that the singer is optimistic and ambitious about their future, and is willing to take risks and pursue their dreams, even if it means facing challenges along the way.
The bridge of the song "We are the voice of a generation, So take your chance and don't back down" is a call to arms for the younger generation to speak up and make a difference, to challenge the status quo and not be afraid to stand up for what they believe in. The repetition of the lines "Take this chance, Take a stand, Don't back down" reinforces the idea of courage and conviction, and encourages listeners to not be deterred by setbacks or obstacles.
Overall, "Here I Am" is a powerful and uplifting song that celebrates individuality, tenacity and the human spirit's ability to overcome adversity.

Podría abrazarte tan cerca y nunca dejarte entrar
Podría abrazarte tan cerca y nunca dejarte entrar
Solo entre los números
Grita de nuevo en el trueno
Lo aprendí desde el principio
Que todo lo que tuve fue yo
Yo soy como uno
El padre y el hijo
soy uno
No podías creer
Los incendios que he pasado,
Que superar
Nunca te he necesitado
Me enseñó desde el principio
El único en quien creer es yo mismo,
Así que me fui y me volví viento
No puedo quedarme si estoy solo
No me pueden derribar si no aguanto
Solo entre los números
Grita de nuevo en el trueno
Lo aprendí desde el principio
Que todo lo que tuve fue yo
Yo soy como uno
El padre y el hijo
soy uno
No necesito tu amor
No quiero tu amor
soy uno
soy uno
Una y otra vez repito y explico
¿Estoy jodidamente loco?
Es como las palabras que salen
Simplemente no parece hundirse en
soy uno
Solo entre los números
Grita de nuevo en el trueno
Lo aprendí desde el principio
Que todo lo que tuve fue yo
Yo soy como uno,
El padre y el hijo
soy uno
Soy uno (soy uno)
Soy uno (soy uno)
Soy uno...
Soy uno (soy uno)

This is definitely my favorite one off the album. Aside from Vultures and Under Denver. The lyrics are absolutely stunning. The anger and frustration at the end "Again and again I repeat and explain am I fucking insane? I am one!" just takes the whole cake for me. And just knowing that Danny puts his heart and soul on what he writes and sings, all the shit he's been through throught his whole career, makes it a billion times better.
It really frustrates how lots of folk only focus on the instrumentals and if it sounds "heavy enough". As soon as they hear a softer voice or something that isn't what they're used to they'll bash it without a second thought. Music is something to experience, this is not "party" or "dancing" music. It's not your typical 2-3 minute songs with a bunch of sounds mixed up and generic lyrics. I love what Asking Alexandria became and I cannot wait for their future work. Cheers!

So true. So many people complain about musical growth and evolution. Sorry, but not all bands want to make the same record over and over again nor do all fans want to hear the same album over and over again. I personally have no problem with bands evolving and broadening their horizons.
