Wondering what time you came to me.
You broke my heart, and left lonely.
Now I got nothing left but misery.
Wondering if you, have found another love
Brings no consolation to my heart.
Now one of these days you'll me sorry, (you know you will)
That you filled my heart with misery. (let it swing)
One of these days you?ll be sorry, that you filled my heart with misery. (misery)
The song "Misery" by Asleep at the Wheel is a classic country tune that delves into the themes of heartbreak and nostalgia. The first lines of the song "Went to bed last night, wasn't sleepy. Wondering what time you came to me." set the somber mood of the song. The singer of the song is unable to fall asleep and is haunted by memories of a past relationship. The next lines "You broke my heart and left me lonely. Now I got nothing left but misery." are a clear expression of the pain and hurt that the singer experiences after the break-up.
The chorus "Wondering if you, have found another love. Brings no consolation to my heart. Now one of these days you'll be sorry, that you filled my heart with misery." expresses the singer's inner turmoil as he/she wonders whether their ex-partner has moved on and found happiness with someone else. The chorus ends with a hint of hope as the singer believes that one day their ex-partner will realize the pain they have caused them and regret their actions.
The song's final lines "One of these days you'll be sorry, that you filled my heart with misery (misery)" are a poignant reminder that the wounds of heartbreak never truly heal and that the pain often leaves a lasting impact on individuals.
