Bloodstream
Astrid S Lyrics

Leaving is easy, easy for him
Counting the nights, I keep my face in
His sweater I'm keeping
Pretend that he holds me, embrace me
Leaving is easy, leaving is easy

Wherever I go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, I go he's been

But you get out of my head now, baby
You get out of my head now

Wherever I go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, I go he's been

Touching me gently, holding me close
Breathe on my skin, lips down my body
Ain't like nobody
He got me feeling, floating
Leaving is easy, leaving is easy

Wherever I go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, I go he's been

He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now
He's floating in my bloodstream now

Gentle with my words
Speak like my tongue burns
But I don't want to weigh your mind
I don't know what's worse
Must've been why
Dead nor alive
That must be why
Mm, I'm stuck in between my bloodstream now

Wherever I go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever
Wherever I go he's been, I go he's been
Wherever I go he's been, wherever (you)
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever (get out of my head now, baby)
Wherever I go he's been, go he's been, wherever (you)
Wherever I go he's been, I go he's been (get out of my head now)

Get out of my head now, baby
Get out of my head now

Overall Meaning

In this song, Astrid S sings about a person she is struggling to let go of. She finds it easy for him to leave her, but she is haunted by his memory every time she tries to move on. She counts the nights and keeps his sweater to pretend that he is still holding her and embracing her. Even though she tries to move on, she can't escape his presence as she feels like he's everywhere she goes.

The chorus reveals that he is like a drug to her and that he's "floating in her bloodstream now". She describes him as gentle and tender, as he holds her close and kisses her all over. She is captivated by his touch and the way he makes her feel, even though she knows he's not good for her. She is stuck in-between wanting him and knowing he's not good for her. The song ends with her pleading for him to get out of her head so that she can move on.

Overall, this song is a powerful representation of the difficulty of letting go of someone you love, even if you know they're not good for you. The metaphor of him being in her bloodstream represents how he has become a part of her, and how she can't escape his influence on her.
