After its start in 1997 with Astrud EP, three albums (Mi fracaso personal, Gran fuerza and Performance), one b-sides album (Algo cambió: Caras B y rarezas 1996–2005) and many collaborations with other artists, Astrud has been continuously evolving in its sound, whether they want to sound techno-pop, orchestral, rock or whatsoever. Daily living scenes and intelligence are always present in their lyrics.
On top of that, their attitude and image have turn them into some kind of pop icons in the spanish alternative scene.
Their last album, Tú no existes was released in April 2007.

yo prefiero no estar cerca
y ahora como vamos a fingir
que no ha cambiado nada
y además como querreis que os llamemos
señor y señora "no me hagas reir"
vamonos a tomar algo
vamonos a tomar algo
No os caseis, no os caseis
demos una vuelta en cambio
No os caseis, no os caseis
ya le explico yo al padrino
No os caseis, no os caseis
si total os da lo mismo
No os caseis, no os caseis
vamonos a tomar algo
No os caseis, no os caseis
demos una vuelta en cambio
No os caseis, no os caseis
ya le explico yo al padrino
No os caseis, no os caseis
si total os da lo mismo
The lyrics of Astrud's song "La Boda" express the apprehension of the singer towards their friend's impending wedding. The singer starts by expressing disbelief in the fact that their friend is getting married and mentioning that they will have to tell others about it. The singer does not want to imagine the reaction of others to the news of the impending wedding, and they can already anticipate the shock on their faces. The singer refers to the idea of pretending that nothing has changed, but they know that it is not possible. Later in the song, the singer elaborates on the various expectations that come with a wedding - dressing up in fancy clothes, singing in the church, and attending the reception. The singer is not interested in any of it and insists that the couple should reconsider the wedding.
The song can be interpreted as a critique of the societal pressure to get married or conform to traditional ideas of what a wedding should look like. The singer is pushing back against the idea that a wedding is a necessary and joyous occasion for everyone involved. Instead, they urge their friend to consider their true feelings and not go through with the wedding if they are not completely committed to it. The tone of the song is light and humorous, but it highlights an important message about the importance of individual choice and not succumbing to societal expectations.

Como que os vais a casar
It seems like you are getting married
pero que estas diciendo
But what are you saying?
no puedo creer que sea verdad
I can't believe it's true
claro que estoy contento
Of course I'm happy
You'll see when I tell others
I don't even want to imagine the look on their faces
se van a quedar de piedra
They'll be stunned
yo prefiero no estar cerca
I prefer not to be around
We have to recognize that this all comes to an end
y ahora como vamos a fingir
Now, how are we going to pretend
que no ha cambiado nada
That nothing has changed?
y además como querreis que os llamemos
And how do you want us to call you?
señor y señora "no me hagas reir"
"Mr. and Mrs." - don't make me laugh
Imagine these words on your mailbox
And on top of that, you'll want us to sing in the church
And at the party, you'll want us to dress in formal wear
With a shirt with cufflinks or buttons and a vest
y los zapatos mocasines o cordones
And shoes - loafers or lace-ups?
No os caseis, no os caseis
Don't get married, don't get married
vamonos a tomar algo
Let's go grab a drink
demos una vuelta en cambio
Let's take a walk instead
ya le explico yo al padrino
I'll explain it to the godfather
si total os da lo mismo
If you both feel the same anyway
