Last Goodbye
Atargatis Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The sea out there is calling my name
In a time when the moon is guiding my way
When the waves seem to reach for my hands
Goodbye my friends I have to go
To a land like a dream I know
And if love makes you blind you make me see
And if pain needs a victim it turns to me
I'll remember you youhave shown me the way
I have to go

Now I've reached the final end
I hope I have gone the way you've meant
When the sea is pouring my blood on the shore
I hope you were worth to die for

Love, regret, fear and hate.
All these emotions never will fade...

@MrMarcoisgod thanks. I think barking at ppl who have different opinions is pointless. Every point of view deserves a fair argument. I saw NW live & was impressed with Anette singing Siren. Not as good as Tarja, but good enough to bring tears to my eyes. I wouldn't consider Siren an old NW song. To me, old nw songs are before Century Child wh/ markd their first big change in sound. Stuff from WM & OB are harder to sing than the newer stuff for the most part.

@MetalNightwish Are you kidding me? Stephanie kicks Anette's ass any day. I honestly doubt Annette would even be able to carry this tune... If you had said Tarja, you might have an argument, but come on now, both Tarja and Stephanie have distinct, irreplaceable voices. I wouldn't have one over the other. I would, however, rather hear Stephanie in the new Nightwish than Annette.

@MrMarcoisgod I was responding to MetalN- who said that "it should be Anette singing." I don't know how you can even compare Anette with Tarja. Tarja has arguably a better voice than Sarah Brightman, a professional soprano who does nothing but sing. Anette struggles with a lot of songs only Tarja can sing. Anette's hot, & she puts on one hell of a show, but she's no Tarja. Stephanie does sound Irish, but she's actually Bavarian, & you can hear her Germanic roots if you listen closely.
