1. Auburn, is an R&B/pop singer.
Auburn Williams was born in Minneapolis to a single mother. She began singing in church and listened to nothing but gospel music as a kid. When she was 13, Auburn began performing with a local all-girl group called Loyal and she continued to work on her songwriting, posting tracks on her MySpace page growing her fanbase the grass-roots way. In 2007, Auburn released an independent album called Same Giirl on local St. Paul label FS Music. The record spawned the underground hit "Ewww!!!", which climbed to #6 on DJBooth's Underground chart. That same year, Auburn opened for Keyshia Cole, performing in more than 20 cities. At the end of 2007, Auburn was signed as the first female artist to J. R. Rotem's Beluga Heights record company.
2. Liz Lenten formed AUBURN in the summer of 1999. Their first gig was at the jam-packed launch party of Scarlet Records held at the salubrious and smoky Madame JoJo’s in Soho to a completely packed and enthusiastic house.sepia full shot lo res
Their first EP ‘Sweet Sebastian’ received extensive airplay, and sold out of its limited pressing within 2 weeks. They then teamed up with producer Tim Pettit, (Travis, Sun House and Carlene Carter) and recorded ‘For Life’, which also got great radio support and the band toured UK and played many live radio sessions.
The debut Album DREAMS was released in 2003 and AUBURN toured with SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR in UK and EUROPE, playing to 40,000 people. In 2005 CRY reach no 5 in the indie video charts after which they took a break concentrated on parenthood!
Auburn reunited in 2011 to create one of the break-out releases of 2012, ‘Indian Summer’, which garnered rave reviews worldwide.
‘Indian Summer’ is a mix of up-beat and slower tempo electro-acoustic pop music, but borrowing much from the roots, country and blues genres; definitely 2013 – but with a slightly retro sound, that has its listeners reminiscing. It is a mixed sound of lush acoustic guitars, rich cello lines and groovy percussion, underpinned by hypnotic bass lines, with guest performances by ELIZA CARTHY and LAURA VANE.
Described as a band that delivers “songs from the heart” by the London Evening Standard, and “Dreamy, moody and atmospheric” by Classic Rock Society, Auburn had a great critical reaction to the album and their tour supporting the release.
“We have been really thrilled by the positive reviews that the album has had and the audiences response at the live shows,” says Liz. cowgirl shirt small-1“It was nerve racking after all this time away, but it feels like people are getting it and there is definitely an awareness building around the ‘Indian Summer’ album.”
Choral-director and artist/label manager (ELIZA CARTHY, SHANE MACGOWAN & GALIA ARAD) Liz, who’s voice has been described as “so sweet it’ll make your hair curl” and “husky, with an emotional frailty”, isn’t afraid to show her full range of vocal tones or emotions.
In March 2013 Liz went back into the studio to write some new songs, later joined by original AUBURN collaborator Mark ‘Gus’ Gustavina.
In June 2013 she took these to Nashville TN, to record with award winning producer THOMM JUTZ, and his team of Grammy winning musicians. The resulting album, entitled ‘Nashville’ was released in 2014 to critical acclaim.
3. Auburn, was a southern metalcore/post-hardcore band from Rhode Island and Southeastern/Rehoboth, Massachusetts, United States.
Though the strong southern grooves of the past have long since faded into the repetitive and drab "metalcore" of today, there are still some who feel that same power and soul in their veins, and who work to boil it back to the surface. Enter Auburn out of southern Mass. Five friends who are influenced not only by the southern riffage of their roots, but also by some of today's most notable hardcore/metal acts and, more importantly, by a strong faith and a true knowledge of what is really important: each other. A unified force of sound, listeners can expect to hear both rock riffs and brutal breakdowns, both tearing screams and melodic singing; a true gritty mix of the good, bad AND ugly. Auburn will confront your senses with a heartfelt and energetic performance that will both rock your body and uplift your heart.

Mmmmmmm
Verse 1:
I remember when we were 13.
You said you'll always be down for me.
But once I finally gotta name,
A simple thing.
But I'm still the same and I'm...
Chorus:
Sooo broken
Sooo broken
So brokenhearted.
I know it's myself.
Can't blame nobody else.
Verse 2:
You said to me 'Girl you done changed.'
'What about us hangin out ain't got time for your friends.'
But I haven't changed.
Part of me is still the same.
Look at me and ignore the fame.
I still remember where I came from.
I'm so...
Chorus:
Sooo broken
Sooo broken
So brokenhearted.
I know it's myself.
Can't blame nobody else.
Verse 3:
Why???
I realized it's hard for you too.
Say girl I forgive you when I'm sorry.
But it' just sooo stressful.
Being out on the road.
Doing shows.
So I need you the most...
You're my best friend...
Chorus:
Sooo broken
Sooo broken
So brokenhearted.
I know it's myself.
Can't blame nobody else.
The lyrics to Auburn's song "Brokenhearted" talk about a friendship that has changed over time. The singer remembers how close they were when they were 13 and how the friend promised to always be there for her. However, things started to change when the singer began to do well and gain some recognition for her work. The friend started to accuse her of changing and not having time for people who were important to her. At the same time, the singer feels like she's still the same person, even though she might have grown and changed in some ways. She feels like she's left with a broken heart as a result of this change and knows that she can't blame anyone but herself.
The second verse expands on these ideas, with the friend accusing the singer of changing and not being the person she used to be. The singer tries to remind her friend that she still remembers where she came from and is still the same person at heart. She feels like her friend is ignoring her because of her fame and success, and this makes her feel even more brokenhearted.
In the final verse, the singer realizes that her friend is also struggling with their friendship and tries to make things right. She acknowledges that being on the road and doing shows can be stressful and that she needs her friend's support more than ever. She reminds her friend that she's her best friend and hopes that they can find a way to repair their friendship.
Overall, the lyrics of "Brokenhearted" speak to the pain of lost friendships and the struggle to maintain relationships when life changes. Despite its melancholy lyrics, the song also has a message of hope and forgiveness, encouraging listeners to work through their differences and heal their broken hearts.

My heart & mind still think of a guy who left last month. I still love him. I can't believe that out of all the men I've been with or talked to, it was him that got to me the most. Him pulling away hit me the hardest out of any man in my life. It's weird how love can be. There's no logic to love. Even when compared to a guy I dated for 4 years & the 2 boyfriends before this guy, all 3 guys before him, it's THIS guy that has hit my heart the hardest. I wasn't this sad over a loss until this year.
