The home of Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra is the Haydnsaal in Esterhazy Palace, Eisenstadt. As the resident orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra plays an important role in the annual Haydn Festival. Musicians are the best from both Austria, including members of Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Hungarian States Symphony Orchestra, etc. Since 1987, the orchestra has been recording the entire Haydn Symphonies and completed this in 2001 on the label Nimbus Records known for their Ambisonics recordings of classical music, e.g. with The Hanover Band.
Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra has been invited to many famous festivals, such as the BBC Proms in London, Mostly Mozart Festival in New York, and Mozart Week in Salzburg. In 1993, the orchestra toured Asia and performed in Tokyo, Osaka Taipei, and other cities. They are the guest ensemble of Festival l'Pau in Le Mans, France. There were 6 concerts in May 2002. The orchestra appears in Vienna and Budapest frequently.
