Eclipse
B-Tree Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
If you miss you'll land in the stars'
Maybe I jumped way too soon
But, I fell and hit the ground too hard
I saw all the stars start to align
Was never for me
No matter how bright they shine
They were just a constellation
They fall around me
They never hit me
The moon spoke to me
While the stars crash loudly
It was
A full eclipse of my heart
I felt the moon and stars
Run through my veins
The high drove me insane
But, then came the lightning
One bolt right through me
Something out of a movie
Sparks where my heart should be
So far from the other side
The stars are now in my eyes
I am ready to hypnotise
The eclipse happening inside
I scream at the stars
They scream right back
The world was falling apart
Just more baggage to pack
Like a flare in the night
That dyes the sky red
A brand new light in my life
I see it all from my bed
The moon gets blocked out
Covered by all the clouds
Life goes crashing down
But, eventually, you'll be found
But there always will be
A full eclipse of my heart
I felt the moon and stars
Run through my veins
The high drove me insane
But, then came the lightning
One bolt right through me
Something out of a movie
Sparks where my heart should be
So far from the other side
The stars are now in my eyes
I am ready to hypnotise
The eclipse happening inside
Life has its ups and downs
Someday, it will turn around
An eclipse of the moon and the sun
This is your life there ain't another one
I wanna see the burning cityscape in the moonlight
I wanna run until all I can see is the blurry lights
One foot in the future, and one in the past
Never in the now, I just watch my life pass
But, suddenly I stop and live in the seconds
The eclipse stopped my mind and helped me live in the present
(The other side)
A full eclipse of my heart (of my heart)
I felt the moon and stars (felt the moon and the stars)
Run through my veins (run through my veins)
The high drove me insane (insane)
But, then came the lightning (then came the lightning)
One bolt right through me
Something out of a movie
Sparks where my heart should be (sparks where my heart should be)
So far from the other side
The stars are now in my eyes
I am ready to hypnotise (hypnotise)
The eclipse happening inside

That eclipse saved my life
The lyrics of B-Tree's song "Eclipse" convey a journey of self-discovery and transformation. The song begins with a common phrase encouraging individuals to aim high and embrace ambition. However, the singer feels they may have jumped too soon and experienced a harsh landing, symbolizing their initial failure or disappointment in their pursuit. The mention of stars aligning alludes to the idea of dreams and goals coming together, but the singer realizes that they were never meant for this shining, extravagant path. The stars, represented as a constellation, are just a random accumulation, highlighting the superficiality and lack of purpose in their previous aspirations.
As the song progresses, the moon speaks to the singer. While the stars crash loudly, metaphorically representing the noise and chaos around them, it is the moon that captivates their attention. This interaction with the moon results in a transformative experience, as it symbolically runs through their veins, signifying a deep connection and understanding. The high they feel at this moment drives them to a state of insanity, suggesting the overwhelming emotions they experience during this revelation.
Yet, just as they become immersed in this newfound perspective, the lightning strikes. This unexpected event represents a sudden and jarring realization that causes a significant disruption. The analogy of sparks where their heart should be demonstrates the impact this revelation has on their emotional core. It is a powerful moment that resembles a scene from a movie, emphasizing its intensity and life-altering nature. The distance from the other side, likely referring to their previous state of being, is now bridged as the stars become a part of their eyes, indicating a new perception and outlook on life.
The singer embraces this shift and feels ready to mesmerize or captivate others. The eclipse happening inside them symbolizes a personal transformation where they block out previous obstacles, transcending their old self. They scream at the stars, which scream back, representing a confrontation with their previous desires and ambitions. The mention of the world falling apart and baggage to pack implies that they have let go of these superficial pursuits and embrace a new light in their life.
The song concludes with the acknowledgment of life's ups and downs and the understanding that eventually, things will turn around. The eclipse of the moon and the sun serves as a metaphor for the cycles of life, with each phase representing different experiences and opportunities. The desire to see the burning cityscape and blurry lights suggests a yearning for excitement and the ability to blur the boundaries between past and future. However, the singer recognizes the importance of living in the present moment, as the eclipse stops their mind and helps them appreciate the present.
Ultimately, the full eclipse of their heart becomes a pivotal moment in the singer's life. The moon and stars, once distant and disconnected, run through their veins and save their life. This transformation represents a shift in perspective, embracing the present and finding purpose and meaning beyond the superficial pursuits of the past. The eclipse becomes a life-altering event that leads to self-discovery, growth, and a new understanding of themselves and the world around them.
