Here I Sit

Man have received the right to live from God above
But there is only right that you can give
That is the right for me to have your love
That's why I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
Yes I'm gonna sit in till you give in
No use resisting, I'll keep insisting
Stop your conniving girl, I ain't jiving
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
Yes, I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
Night time, day time, sunshine or rain
I'll be ridin that ol' freedom train
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
Yes, I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
Tonight at eight in the morning at four
You'll find me sitting at your front door
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
Yes, I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
And give me all your love
I'm gonna sit in till you give in
The song "Here I Sit" by B.A. Robertson speaks to the persistence of love and the lengths one might go to obtain it. The lyrics begin by acknowledging humanity's innate right to live but specifically calls out the right to have love. The singer of the song is making a bold statement that they will not stop until they are given the love they desire. The repetition of the line "I'm gonna sit in till you give in and give me all your love" emphasizes the determination of the singer to accomplish their goal.
The second verse continues with the same sentiment of persistence, stating that it is no use resisting and that the singer will keep insisting. The line "stop your conniving girl, I ain't jiving" can be interpreted as a warning to the object of the singer's affection to stop playing games and take their feelings seriously. The third verse adds a playful element, mentioning "riding that ol' freedom train" which could represent the journey towards finding love.
The final verse is the most dramatic, with the singer stating that they will be sitting outside their love interest's front door all night and all day until they give in to the singer's demands. The phrase "at eight in the morning at four" is intentionally nonsensical, adding to the whimsy of the song.
Overall, the lyrics of "Here I Sit" convey a sense of determination and the lengths we might go to obtain the love we desire.

This is my interpretation of the lyrics. Is 'border' correct? If anybody spots any errors, please let me know. Anyway, here goes:
I know my queen, madonna, don't hold a candle to you
It's rare madonnas come in twos
Please don't leave me darling
I'm so afraid of the dark
Those childhood memories leave their mark
But now and then I still make my land my border for you
Now and then I still play the fool
Baby tell you
Just now and then I'll still be your knight in shining armour
Now and then we still bend the rules
So I just kind of left all the big decisions to you
It seemed to fit us real well too
You're still sweet and light when I say I'm back on the case
Then the disappointment crosses your face
But now and then I still make my land my border for you
Now and then I still play the fool
Baby tell you
Just now and then I'll still be your knight in shining armour
Now and then we still bend the rules
Now and again when we're both not too lazy
We'll bend all the rules and things don't seem so crazy
But now and then I still make my land my border for you
Now and then we still see the rules
Baby tell you
Just now and then I'll still be your knight in shining armour
Now and then we seem less confused

Ok, my favourites of his solo works are Bang Bang and To Be Or Not To Be, and my favourite song his that he co-wrote is The Living Years, but it's a shame this is missing from Spotify possibly just because it wasn't a big hit.
