Do It
B.D.M Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Do it, try it
Do it, try it
Do it, try it
Do it

Listen to the sound
Of a new tomorrow
Take over my dreams
Walk into the feeling

A dance on repeat
A trance on a hard beat
A dance on repeat
A trance on a hard beat

Do it, try it
Do it, try it
Do it

Listen to the sound
Like a shout in the night
Moving at the tempo
Of a broken song (hmm)

A dance on repeat
A trance on a hard beat
A dance on repeat
A trance on a hard beat

Listen to the sound
Of a broken heart
Calling for a sign of love
Heal me up (try it, do it)
Back me up (do it)
Turn me on (do it)
And I'm (do it)

A dance on repeat
A trance on a hard beat
A dance on repeat
A trance on a hard beat

Heal me up
Back me down
Turn me on
I'm alone
Heal me up
Back me down
Turn me on
I'm alone
Try it all
Do it, try it

Do it
Try it

Overall Meaning

The song “Do It” by Run-DMC is an iconic hip-hop song that starts with a dedication to Ruddy Ray from all the homeboys around the way. The lyrics then go on to talk about the individual members of the group, including D.M.C., the K-I-N-G, who drives a Caddy, drinks O.E., and wears glasses to see his homeboy DJ Run. They explain how the crew is tougher than leather and will slay the bad ones until there are none.

The lyrics then transition into talking about their skills as MCs and how they are the K-I-N-G's of all M-I-see’s. They mention their ability to make money and gain respect while still breaking necks and being as funky fresh as possible. They also talk about their desire to pursue their goals and be the best in the game.

Overall, the lyrics to “Do It” showcase the confidence and skill of Run-DMC. The group was known for their braggadocious style and this song is a prime example of that.

Thank you and best of luck on your interview!

I would say the focus of your prep should be on a few specific skills, company interest, and how you will present your answers. Let's go over how to present your answers first so that when you are gathering the info for the skills you can be thinking of it in this framework.

STAR Interview Method:
S = Situation, the problem your company or customer was facing (i.e. our sales were down)

T = Task, the things you were assigned to do (i.e. I needed to close at least 5 deals)

A = Action, the way you went about completing your tasks (i.e. I sent out 50 cold email, setup 20 meetings, and I was able to close 5 deals by getting to know the real challenges our customers were facing and how our system could help them)

R = Results, what were the results of your actions (i.e. because of the 5 deals I closed, our revenue was at a record for the past 5 years and I am better able to help our customers that I meet with now)

1. Sales Results - how do you approach sales and how were you able to achieve those results? Make sure to frame it with your goal being to help your customers.
2. Cold outreach - you need to show that you have the ability to message, call, email, or speak with people that you have had no prior contact with.
3. Creativity - you need to show that you are able to look for opportunities in places that other people may not expect and are able to drive business results that other people would overlook.

The other thing you need to show is company and industry knowledge, be sure to spend time getting to know the company you are interviewing with. Start on their website, then go through each of their social channels to get not only an understanding of what they do and their culture, but also write down as many questions as you can that you want to ask your interviewer if they have time.

Additionally, if you can show that you have a network that you can call upon in the industry you are going to be working in, it will also give you a head start.

This will show them that you care about their business and are interested in them as a company and you are not just looking for a job.

Those are the the best tips I could come up with off the top of my head, I hope they help!

Hello!
Thank you for your interest!

To be honest, I am not familiar with any courses on Business Development so I would feel less than honest recommending any.

However, I can recommend a book about selling things that helped me: To Sell is Human by Dan Pink

You can find it here: https://www.danpink.com/books/to-sell-is-human/

Hope this helps!

BDTM has sales target ..?

@Ramya Mohanraj Sorry for the late reply, Youtube doesn't show responses to comments in the dashboard.

Yes, a BDM will have sales targets. There is another type of Business Development that is focused on bringing in new business lines.

Salem Alyami

I watched other BD vids but they didn’t explain BDM roles and responsibilities as good as you explained it. I loved how you were straight to the point. Thank you l.

Agustin Marquez Segat

I have been offered this in my company, they say I will be a natural since I have charisma, not afraid of talking to people and also have enough knowledge in what we do, our infrastructure infrastructure and how it works (I was doing both Support and SysOps) and the cybersecurity industry. Wish me luck!
