The Original BFG line up reformed in 1989 and recorded what many feel was the definitive BFG album. Blue was released in 1990 and with its mixture of loops and driving guitars mixed with B.J. Williams vocals, always threatening to explode, it set the musical agenda that the like's of Rammstien have since followed. B.F.G. Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
(Can we just stop talking)
24 years I been living
So
Reckless
Don't know what I was thinking
So
Ignorant
They'll
Talk about the shit that I did
When
No one knows what it meant
I can be the hero
But she's looking for a man
I'd rather be anonymous
In "Anonymous" by B.F.G., the lyrics describe a sense of regret and reflection on past actions. The singer acknowledges the mistakes they have made and expresses a desire to move on from them. The line "Don't talk about what we did" implies a reluctance to discuss or dwell on their past actions, perhaps due to feelings of shame or embarrassment.
The lyrics highlight the passing of time, with the mention of "24 years I been living." This phrase could be interpreted as the singer realizing the significance of their actions over the course of their life and the consequences they may have had. They acknowledge their past reckless and ignorant behavior, admitting they didn't fully understand the implications of their actions at the time.
The chorus of the song suggests a longing for anonymity. The singer is tired of being judged for their past mistakes and desires to live a life without the burden of their actions defining them. They express a preference for being anonymous, possibly indicating a desire for a fresh start or a chance to be seen beyond their past flaws.
Overall, "Anonymous" by B.F.G. delves into themes of regret, reflection, and a yearning for redemption. The lyrics convey a sense of self-awareness and a desire to move forward and leave the past behind.
