(CHORUS:)
Hello I'm just a mellow fellow
Just give me a bud and a cigarello
And I'm a keep it ghetto
Cause I stick with it just like velcro
Cause I'm mellow (x9)
(VERSE 1:)
I'm real calm cool and collective
So when I walk in they know what to expect it's
B.o.B. in the session
Stand in and mister all this hate so it effect it
Now that's what I call interesting
I gotta gameplan but they can't intercept it
They can't do nothing but respect it
Because my flow is anorexic, sick, it's infected
(Haha yeah it's B.o.B. man, I'm just a mellow fellow stay real still like jello)
(CHORUS:)
Hello I'm just a mellow fellow
Just give me a bud and a cigarello
And I'm a keep it ghetto
Cause I stick with it just like velcro
Cause I'm mellow (x9)
I'm just a mellow fellow
(VERSE 2:)
Haha it's B.o. bellow
All about the green ain't worried bout yellow
What does that mean?
Hah jaknow me and bread go together like hansel and gretel
Well in the ghetto
The cycle is a merry go round so you curse when they cut off your umbilical
I remember when life used to be miserable
But since my (? ) changed I've been seeing miracles
(Haha yeah man real talk
Treat life good it treat you good back)
(CHORUS: x2)

The lyrics of B.o.B's song Mellow Fellow convey the message that he is a calm, cool, and collected person who prefers a simple and laid-back lifestyle. He describes himself as real, and the people around him know what to expect when he walks into a room. He talks about his gameplan which no one can intercept and the anorexic flow of his sick and infected lyrics, which set him apart from others. He also talks about his love for weed and cigarellos, which are a part of his life, but he stays true to his roots and keeps it ghetto, sticking with it just like velcro. This song is an ode to the simple life, where one is not troubled with much and lives at ease.
B.o.B's use of imagery is also interesting, painting pictures of life in the ghetto, the cycle of life, and the moments of happiness he has found through his struggles, which he considers miracles. The theme of staying true to himself, his upbringing, and his values can also be seen throughout the song.
Overall, Mellow Fellow is a lyrical masterpiece that captures the essence of a simple life, staying true to oneself, and finding happiness in the midst of struggles.

I remember hearing this song from a kid who’s father just died. We were skating at a skate shop on a Friday night in 2008. On a Christian night where everyone got in for $2. He was skating on a mini half pipe with his headphones on , singing, im a mellow fellow all night. I hope he’s doing great in life. 🙏🏽 my childhood was filled great memories and many bad ones. I miss it so much, I didn’t know good from bad.
